That is a very unfortunate and costly injury for Smith. But regarding your post, Google the play. Watch the ESPN video of the call. Decker pushed down Smith, Smith started to get up and Decker pushed him again. The whistle blew well after the second push. Besides the ball looked to be loose as well. I don't think Decker was in a position to see that, but I also don't know if any players were yelling "fumble" either.
I'm letting the "shot" comment go by choosing to believe that you were just posting emotionally about a player of whom you are a fan.

I have watched that clip over and over and think it was an "eat dirt Butkus Award winner" moment as Jaylon was out of the play and YES, I have read plenty of posts that Decker was just following through till the play was over, but even a Tribune article called the shove post-whistle, so I can see why some Irish fans are outspoken about Decker and the shove.
