They probably put coke..

I've got a feeling that most of those kids can barely spell their name, but they are fast and can play football. It's a shame every school can't play on an even playing field.

Didn't Irish players get arrested with drugs and an illegal handgun last year? Then one day later another player pummeled a cop? I don't recall that happening with Miami recently. Or anyone else for that matter. ND does not have perfect players either. These are college kids, take it easy. You lost fair and square in a football game, no need to insult their intelligence.

Didn’t ND kill a student by putting him on a tower in 40 mph winds? Allow the rape of a student by a FB player, who then commits suicide over NDs aggressive attempt to squelch, go uninvestigated? Me thinks you should shut up you sanctimonious turd.

A mod should pull this string. Just horrible.

I don’t know if you went to college much less the U. I am an alumnus of that school. The program when I was there was corrupt. Steroid infused.... players were dumb shits for the most part. Their aggregate IQ is less than 100.

Let’s not forget the assaults, rapes theft etc that happened at the football dorms.... comparing ND to them in ethics shows your stupidity

Not Comparing. Just hate hearing people put others down, when they themselves have had their own issues. It’s just decency.

There was an illegal handgun. And the next day a kid pummeled a cop in a separate incident. I'm just saying nobody is perfect. All big time football schools have issues ND included.

You obviously know little, but that is okay because I know you are extremely butt-hurt. Miami requires higher academic stats of their student scholarship athletes than is required by the NCAA; thus, we are on an even playing field. If you know how to google, look it up. It is hilarious that since your team could not beat us, many of you ND fans try and attack academics and particularly the gold chain. Very, very immature. Face it, you got taken to the woodshed last nite......it happens to all of us occasionally.

I didn’t lose and you didn’t win. Some Miami fans believe they played in the game.

The arrests you are talking about for ND were moronic for sure. That was about lacking common sense though. Max Redfield, the leader of that group is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. Most ND players are highly intelligent when it comes to book smarts.

Brandon Wimbush sounds like he could be president of the United States one day. I heard a player for LSU get interviewed recently after a game and it sounded like he could read at a fifth grade level.

FWIW, the poster commenting about Miami players not being able to spell is not a regular, nor a serious, poster on this board. He's a very occassional poster, whose stole purpose is stirring the pot. Which is likelly why he was ignored last night. The OP is obviously a Gator fan.

Some people enjoy manipulating others.

Good luck to your Dawgs. Given how much you all love talking about 2012, maybe Georgia will "almost" beat Alabama in the title game again and you guys will have a new set of "what ifs" to ruminate about.

You also don’t hear about transgressions within the football program at Miami as they hide these problems. When was the last time a football, player cheated and got thrown off the team at the U???? At Notre Dame they tend to publicize there matters more so. Last a degree at the ND is more prestigious than the U.

wasn't directed at you alpha just the idiot that posted this

ND is on national TV every week running the same plays with in depth analysis from Flutie etc. Miami scouted well and attacked our weaknesses. Our coaches aren't always flexible so we were a sitting duck.

Did you attend ND? The possessive of "there" is spelled THEIR. Do you know how to use the following?: to, two, too. Do you think "irregardless" is a word? BTW, I attended the U. I lived in the married dorms on Dickerson Drive which were demolished a number of years ago. I lived in the dorm nearest the small bridge to the athletic facilities/field. You are simply butt-hurt and talking out of your posterior. You are certainly not making yourself look too good.

Remember now, the question was is it a word?

Irregardless
was popularized in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. Its increasingly widespread spoken use called it to the attention of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark about it is that "there is no such word." There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead.

Real class in defeat out here ND. Weak.

BTW...the Miami Hurricanes actually lead the country in community service, were one of top ranked athletic programs based on APR and US New and World Report has had the University of Miami ranked in the top 50 schools for about the last 20 years. So on top of being bad losers and rude...you are also incorrect.

Oh and this comment is from an Irish Catholic guy who loves ND played D1 football. Played on 2 Bowl Championship teams. Coached for 20 years and won numerous championships and agrees that Miami is a classless program. Just to refute any arguments from some of the above posters about if I played or was I a band geek. Like that matters. LOL! No refuting the ass kicking. And no excuses. But the point of contention doesn't seem to be about that IRREGARDLESS of what people think.

Miami is a good school. Just like USC though, the standard for football players is different than the standard for students by a long shot. Minimum NCAA qualifier if I'm not mistaken. Whereas Stanford and ND require a much higher standard to admit athletes. That's the point I believe is being addressed here IRREGARDLESS of whether they are in the top 50 or not. That is actually one of the biggest problem with ND being able to get over the hump IMHO. For the record the APR was 75th. Tied with OU and Memphis.

I said overall athletic dept APR...yes football was 965 (Notre Dame 969). Congrats. lol Just ahead of Marshall and just behind Utah State.

For the record Miami's standards are higher than the NCAA minimum, we have lost several players over the years to Louisville, Rutgers and others because they would fail to qualify at UM.

One case in point: >>>After official visits to Rutgers, Syracuse, and Miami (FL), Robinson committed to the Hurricanes, together with the only other five-star recruit from New Jersey, Greg Olsen of Wayne Hills.[4] Unlike Olsen, however, Robinson was unable to meet the school's academic qualification standards.[5] Although Robinson's SAT score of 800 met the NCAA minimum for high school students with a 3.0 grade point average, it was 20 points shy of Miami's institutional standard.[6][7] With the perspective of being declared ineligible, Robinson decided to not enroll at Miami, and instead went to Rutgers.[8][9] He was the only four- or five-star recruit in Rutgers' class.

Who cares? We got shallacked. Get over it.
. I'm over it. I was one of the 9-3 guys in August. Saw Miami as one of 5 potential losses going into the year. Would be ecstatic with a 10-2 finish. Only disappointed that the Irish chose not to even show up like they did against FSU and Clemson in losses. I just think it's funny that even in a 4-8 season last year, Miami is the only group of fans that keep coming on here Monday of Virginia week talking smack and arguing. The irony is they want to argue about how classy their program is but yet they are on an ND site doing it and talking smack. Kinda proving everyone's point. Or at least to me they are.

Dude...the only reason I posted on your board is because someone started a thread called "They probably put coke in the gatorade"...and I'm talking smack??? Please.

Game over. You lost. Next...

Oh the irony!

Friday November 24th it's gonna be 39 with a 40% of rain/snow in Pittsburgh.

Hilarious thread from a Miami standpoint because anyone who lives here understands that the Dolphins are the local team that annually fields players who can barely speak. It makes me cringe every time after the draft, wondering if that's an aspect the scouts prioritize. There was a related thread on the premier Dolphins message board a week or two ago, Finheaven. It was titled, "Plain truth...we have dumb players."

As other Canes posters have emphasized, Miami frequently recruits players who don't qualify but are accepted at other schools. It is an annual frustration on the Canes recruiting forums.

While Irish fans are scrambling to rationalize the defeat and some of them to knock the Miami program in the process, I'll let you in on a little secret that holds validity and not desperation: The Miami area is not strong in defensive tackle recruiting. It is an ongoing problem with few exceptions. Dade County has tons of running backs and receivers but virtually zero defensive tackles. Major topic on Miami message boards. Meanwhile the Canes in their heyday had freak defensive tackle talents like Jerome Brown, Cortez Kennedy, Russell Maryland, Warren Sapp, Vince Wilfork. They dictated play.

Over the past decade or more of huge dropoff in football fortunes that defensive tackle position has been awful. We miss out on one targeted defensive tackle after another. Finally this season the talent and depth at the position looked fortified better than at any point in the past 10-12 years. However, we lost a couple of guys to transfer prior to the season and now there is talk that either or both of the starters Norton and McIntosh will turn pro early after this year. I don't think they are ready, but who knows what they will think? Unless Richt can upgrade and maintain that interior talent the fast guys on the outside are not as relevant and the defensive uptick may be short lived.

Obviously the recruiting should really benefit this season, especially with Florida and Florida State struggling. Miami needs to pounce now.

In fairness, another poster started a thread to ask if Kelly put Ambien our player's Gatorade.

OP of this thread is a gator troll. Think the username of gatorRad would have tipped Cane fans off??? If you look at Rad's past posts you'll see he's not an Irish fan at all.

AND honestly, why not just say best of luck the rest of the season and move on instead of behaving badly on a rival's board?

Why...because 75% of the fans on this board thought ND would win in a blow out. Hell you had a preview of the game in detail that gave the edge to ND in the passing game vs. UM pass defense which was insane. I came back over here to see how many of you would fess up and see how completely wrong those posters were. Miami was clearly the better team in all areas.

Two things. This is an ND board, so what do you expect? And, other than one good game against VA Tech, what would have made anyone think Miami had that performance in them in 2017? Gave up 30 to Toledo, had to sweat UNC to the final minute, needed a miracle fluke deflected 4th down pass in the last minute to beat GA Tech. I mean the Canes were super impressive on Saturday, but anyone who really expected that is as much a myopic homer as an ND fan who predicted a blowout.

Gee ND fans thinking they'd win handily against Miami. Oh, the horror of it all!
There was a link to a Miami board listed by an Irish poster last week. I DID NOT post on the board but followed the threads about ND and guess what? Miami fans thought they'd win handily too, the threads about ND were mean-spirited, disgusting and rude. There was even a thread about beating up ND fans win or lose. I didn't feel the urge to engage them it's a fans forum and figured it was a lot of bravado being tossed around.
Nothing but weak sauce to get bent out of shape over a rival that had been rolling over competition thinking they'd do it again, think most of Canes are just here to rub salt in the wounds. Have a good evening!

And if you noticed, one of the most vocal posters predicting a blowout started a thread immediately after that game - directed specifically at Canes' fans to acknowledge he was wrong and congratulate you guys on playing a good game.

LetsgoND's gives a preview every game. He works hard on it, and yes, it can be optimistic. SO WHAT. Other than that, he doesn't post a lot. Pretty sure I've never seen any name calling or trash talk come from him. But he takes a lot of time to put together a preview and share it here, among fellow ND fans. You took offense to his evaluation of our passing game to Miami's passing D and announced your disagreement. Fair enough. But he didn't fire back. There wasn't any trash talk from him at all. Not one bit.

Respect is earned by beating good opponents, and Miami did that Saturday and they're getting respect around the country. Seems like that would be enough vindication of your team.

The truth is Miami fans want the trash talk. They want it to be Catholic vs. Convicts because they need a chip on their shoulder. From what I've seen, nobody here sought out Canes fans to trash their team before the game. Heck, the OP in this thread was recognizing Miami's intensity. If somebody could say that about ours, I'd take it as a compliment.

You ARE mistaken. See below:

NCAA Academic Requirements
Students must graduate from High School and have a grade point average (GPA) of 2.00 in a core curriculum.
You must also achieve a minimum score on your ACT and SAT this is between 37 and 86 on the ACT and between 820 and 1010 on the SAT.
Remember that the higher your GPA, the lower ACT or SAT score is needed; this works both ways of course, the lower your GPA then the higher ACT or SAT score must be.

UM Academic Requirements

A 2.9 core and a 15 (60) means you qualified for the NCAA.
You need 17 on the act to get into Miami; you must have a minimum of a 2.5 and a 17/820 to gain entrance into the school.
If your core is a little lower and the score a little higher, you can qualify for the NCAA but not UM.
UM doesn't use the sliding scale!

Another interesting article is: www.newsok.com/article/5427069
and check out on google "Notre Dame Football punished for cheating scandal - 2012-13". Bad boys, bad boys.

REGARDLESS, those who do not academically qualify @ the U go to FL State Alabama, etc.

Look you moron. I lived in Eaton Hall. I attended the U from 1971 through 1975. What I wrote is true... If you don’t like the way I write... KMA. Where did you go butthead... The truth is the majority of the football players when I went there didn’t study... had so called study halls... lots took roids... took bullshit courses... and many had difficulty comprehending, in fact... the 1973 play book they had fo4 the ND game... some idiot spelled Notre Dams as Noter Dame on the cover of the opponent’s playbook.

2.5 and a 17? You actually put that out there? LOL! Good luck with the rest of your year. Watch out for that half empty stadium and 35 degree snow in Pittsburgh.
