These are all of his games against ranked opponents. He definitely did not have a bad career at Notre Dame. Was is great, though? Forget that we didn't win a national championship. I know it's hard to win at Notre Dame when all of our players actually need to be able to read and write and speak English...unlike a lot of other schools (including FSU). He was in three championship/playoff games and he got killed in every one of them. The only SEC team he beat OTHER THAN LSU was Vanderbilt. Unfortunately for him he won't be able to have LSY to beat anymore. He's going to have to find a way to beat Alabama and Georgia and the other monsters in the SEC and he hasn't shown any ability to do that. Sure, he'll be able to recruit some guys that would never had been admitted into Notre Dame, but good luck recruiting in the South and in Louisiana. They don't like smug in the South. I'm from the South. And I never liked Brian Kelly. That's not sour grapes. He did much better than I ever expected and he deserves credit for that. But nothing in this record makes me think he is irreplacable. He did very good but not great.
