The Power of Notre Dame!!!!

First ND game I ever attended was ND - Pitt at the old Pitt stadium. ND won in a blow out.

What puzzled me at that time was that outside Pitt stadium they had Pitt's schedule painted on one of the outside walls … with ticket prices … for all games except ND it was something like $15 between the 35 yd lines, $12 from end zone to 35 yd line and $5 in end zone … for ND game ALL seats were $25.

After game, spent the night in Pittsburgh … and next morning the newspaper had an article by Pitt's AD … he said despite the blowout, Pitt couldn't complain since the game was the first sellout since ND last played at Pitt.

Thats when I started to understand the financial draw of ND and why schools want to get ND on their schedule. They help draw $$ to the home teams.

Keep in mind that Steelers stadium just expanded last year. So there is a bit if an * there.

But then again the last time they sold out was when ND came to town

It was a sell out but it looked like there were empty seats, especially in the upper part of the stadium.

I think the announcers said it was the first Pitt sell out at Heinz since the last time ND played Pitt at Heinz.
