The Kelly ride needs to end now

Um, not really. All sites protect their premium content. But he is talking about on the Premium sites they have coaches & scouts who break down film, talk to people in the program, & explain what actually is going on. Not people like you who throw out theories.
I don't mean paid sights.

zorro, if every coach could play the way you talk then every coach would win a NC every year. Obviously, you are not Nick Saban or Urban Meyer so, please go on about how you play Monday morning quarterback.

ND has who it has - Brian Kelly. He got ND to the championship in 2012 and almost there in 2015. Now ND is in control of their destiny. in 2017.

I believe in ND THIS year and have to wait for them to play out their schedule. If you can do it better then why aren't you there already? Heck, why are you not Bill Parcells and winning the Super Bowl.
I do not expect a NC every year heck I don't even expect to play for a championship every year. However, ND should never have less than 7 wins. Not with a coach that has been there for almost ten years. ND should never lose to Tulsa, S. Florida, Northwestern and Duke.

So if ND wins it’s not him, but if they lose it’s him? Got it. You must have worked for Hillary, since selective memory & blame was her motto...
Ridiculous.
My problem is this. In tight games dOes BK do everything in his power to put his players in the best possible position to succeed???

If you say yes to that then you really have no idea.

Maybe it's you who gets offended calling a coach out and wouod rather handle him with kid gloves and bridges of hugs and love but I call a m

What we know is this...every time there is a tight game where every decision is critical how do we do in those games?

Saturday night ND was ready to go. Played hard and organized.

I was the first to congratulate BK. Does that blow out game somehow erase the memory of idiotic decisions and being unprepared in big games? Does it erase all the oh so close but not close enough games? No.

So far this year we've had one close game. It also happens to be our only loss.

Make of it what you wish.

You bring up the past. Are you in the present? ND has a shot this year - are you onboard?

I said at the start of this season ND could make the playoffs. Why? Because of Elko and Long. It was never a player issue, it has always been a coaching issue.

Who hired Elko and long and directs them ?
100% agree with you my friend. I have continually said Kelly did a AWESOME job of hiring really good coaches. I said he has proved he is a great administrator/GM/CEO. He definitely has the final say on how HIS team is ran. Kelly played the biggest part of turning the ship around. Hats off to Kelly for all this. Plus, he was on one of the hottest seats going into this season, he has proven he can work under pressure.

I love how people who know nothing about football, and nothing about running a football program, are crowing "see, i told you that Kelly should of backed off and hired new staff two years ago". FYI 2 years ago ND was 10-1 and leading Stanford with 40 seconds to go. The guy has been a HC for 26 years and last year was just his 2nd losing season...It is comical that people think he just figured how to coach football.

The guy has a really good resume, no doubt about it. However, I do know about football. You do not have to be a football genius to know bad coaching when you see it.

I posted on another thread that I thought last year's performance at NCST was a fireable offense. In fact, I thought the entire year was a coaching fiasco.

As I've said elsewhere, Kelly deserves credit for his performance this year, but it begs the question, how could someone who has been in this business for so long let it fall apart that badly? Ara had average teams in '71 and '72 and won a NC in '73. But average teams lost two games!

I've been lukewarm on Kelly since he was hired. He was half inept, half great his first season. (Starting QB goes down against Michigan, let your freshmen run slow developing flea-flickers, which are intercepted, and allow them back in the game!) But then, down the stretch, he played it like a fiddle. 2011, he started the year like a lunatic, but 2012 he managed the team well.

People like to say he was pass happy when calling plays. He actually called his share of running plays. The problem is he'd call a pass on first down, usually 20-30 yards down field. If it was incomplete he'd run on second down. His version of the spread, with reliance on chunk plays works nicely with a team like the 2015 team when we had receivers who could stretch the field or take a screen pass to the house. We forget too that in 2015 Prosise, our third string back, was having a great season running the ball until he got banged up. And Adams as a freshman had some great games. So it's not like he relied on the pass all the time.

Kelly hasn’t called plays since 2014. That is a fact.
And in the UGA game if he would have taken over from Long ND would have won. But he didn’t want to win a battle (UGA) to lose a war (the entire season). After that game Kelly taught Long how to call plays/scheme against a team who puts 5 over 3 on your left strong side & their best end/LB on the weaker right side— you get to the edge on the right. And look what has happened since.

I really don't think Kelly would have done any better against Georgia. They were simply stronger and faster. If you go back and watch Wimbush's TD run, even though it was less than two yards, they strung it out all the way to the corner and he barely got in. Against other opponents this year, he waltzes in. They also collapsed the pocket on him when he dropped back and pretty much neutralized or overwhelmed our offensive line on most running plays.

I've wondered if we would have done better lining up Wimbush under center and just playing straight-ahead smash mouth. The delayed handoffs that go with the read option were worthless in that game. Just gave Georgia the extra second they needed to react and attack.

Zorich...this view gets lost with defending comments and sentiments of a year ago. I was calling for his head last year as well, when he stuck with BVG at the expense of the program. But there is no denying he did a tremendous job evaluating the program deficiencies and his role in same, and more importantly, he did an incredible job making hires and personal changes to correct these. Kelly’s our HC and I am thankful for it, as the program is on solid ground and the trajectory is pointing up. Last year is dead to me.

If you guys lose today do you still feel the same way? Not saying you will. On paper you should win somewhat comfortably. Your running game is sick. Adams is a beast. Wimbush does just enough in the passing game and then a little more at key moments, but...

What if the Pack come in and play that underdog roll. Get some momentum and hang on by their teeth. I don’t think you guys will over look this Pack team but it’s certainly possible.

I hope your team respects the opponent. I find more than a few of your brethren don’t. Which is fine. That’s what being a fan is all about.

My prediction... 31-27 ND. As painful as it is to say the red zone offense for the Pack has not been great and will be the difference.

The vast majority here think this is the most important and challenging game on our schedule after Georgia. NCST gets plenty of respect, and we all appreciate that your front seven on defense is the best we will play all year; and we recognize that your QB plays damn near error free football. We expect a tough physical game. We also are off the chart fans of ND and excited with our turnaround this year, and the way we are winning games, and our heads are filled with dreams of making a run at the NC.

Good luck guys. Hope both teams come out healthy.

You guys are real good. It will take a lot for this Pack team to have a chance. I’m just glad for the opportunity to showcase this team. They are good no matter what happens today. Unless we get blown out which I pray doesn’t happen

By the way Miami and Stanford are garbage. If you guys take care of business today the path to the playoffs is clear.

Yes let’s be the first to fire a coach with a 6-1 record & ranked 9th in the nation mid season! He might go 4-8 next year so when need to act now! I’m sure no one will think we’re crazy!
