The 2015 team had an exciting offense but barely won games. They had a much easier schedule also. When they had a game to make a statement they would lay an egg--like the holloween Temple game--we had the talent to win by thirty but needed a 4th quarter comeback to eek out a victory. We also laid an egg against BC.
Turnovers Turnovers Turnovers. We also should have blown out USC--WE were up like 21 to 3 and rolling but let them back in because of turnovers.
I liked the 2015 team because it showed grit to bring in the next man after many injuries but the defense was epically bad.
In 2017 the Irish not only beat the good teams during statement games but we dominated them ! USC ! NC State ! Michigan State ! LSU ! Ranked teams from the PAC10 ! The ACC ! The BIG TEN ! The SEC !! We nearly beat two ranked SEC TEAMS !!
Brandon Wimbush was having a historic season until he got hurt at the Wake Forest game ! And we were up on Wake 41 to 17 before we let up ! They were a good team ! All the teams we played were good even BC !
The Irish are getting deeper and deeper in talent up and down the lineup ! And Coach Kelly has learned to not call off the dogs late in games ! ND started running up scores last year late in games ! You have to run up scores in todays college football !! Or else you may end up losing or dropping in the polls !!
I think the 2018 team is the deepest up and down the lineup including defense and special teams that we will finally break on through in November and January to finally make the playoffs and win a National Championship !! I don't see us losing a game !! Remember DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS !! This will be Brian Kellys COUP DE GRAS !!! Kelly will become a future Irish Legend this year !! Go Irish ! 14 and 0 !!
