Bodi, Nice to have you back. Agree with much of what you say, but see a few things differently. We have our gentleman's bet on who starts at right tackle, and after seeing the Blue Gold game, my concerns about Kraemer at RT are even greater. The kid can run block at an elite level, but his pass blocking was terrible, and D Hayes abused him repeatedly. Kid is a natural guard and playing RT in space is a major challenge. The coaches better fix this before the season starts or Wimbush is going to be under pressure from the right side all game long. Hope Stephenson plays as I agree that he has big home run potential. Overall, I agree with your breakdown of the offense and its potential to be special.

Defense is a work in progress, but overall, I think the back seven are among the best we've had as a group in many years. The DL has way too many questions. To be a top 15 defense, we need Tillery to be 100% committed to his craft, Taylor and Cage healthy, Trumbetti consistently good, J Hayes taking his game to the next level, and D Hayes playing at the elite level he showed in the BG game. Lots has to go right, and Elko's scheme seems a great fit. Depending on how these DL answer these questions, I won't be surprised if guys like Amosa and Ewell and Kareem play themselves into some reps.

The fact Elko focused on fundamentals all Spring is a good thing, the fact he had to at the expense of installing most of his defense is a bad thing.

That has been said since Kelly has arrived (hell, even with Weis) -- but, when it is 3rd/4th and short, Kelly's O-Line and RB's has been stuffed many times by undersized opponents. When ND can consistently mandate its will against opponents (think back to the Holtz days, and even parts of the Davie years) -- then will I believe has a bad ass O-Line.

Now -- does this offense have talent -- absolutely, across the board. Let's give Stepherson a chance to become consistent before stating he will be better that Fuller and Tate. Tate was a beast whose hands were probably the strongest I have seen a receiver have. And Fuller can simply take the top off of a defense.

Truthfully we watch all the games the majority if our losses are from lack of execution. Only the blowout losses were for lack of talent or when better talent meets great execution.

Bodi, D Hayes looked like the elite rush end we've been praying for. Yea, Kraemer looked out of sync in space on pass blocking, but He wan't the only starter to get beat by Hayes. Really encouraging. He looks jacked but with just a little extra fat around the middle. It is just natural imo. It was probably water weight or he is eating extra because he is training hard..
