Tomorrow will tell us everything we need to know about this ND team. Either they put Pitt down and show they are worthy of a possible playoff slot or they are just pretending.

Undersrandable - lost the biggest game in their schools history and now they are on the road in a short week. They have scored 45 points with 11 minutes left.

SMU has one win...against North Texas. This isn't a good sign for the Irish. I hope they prove me wrong tomorrow, but when does this team score a blowout.

Is there really an NFL team stupid enough to hire Brian Kelly as head coach? A 1-7 SMU team is doing whatever they want when they have the ball in their hands vs. Temple.

where is your trump icon, turnover? is he no longer your bitch?

Temple has ND jet lag .Teams go all out to beat the storied program ,the ND name. Then they struggle the following week .

Temple leading SMU by 5 is equivalent to us beating Temple by 4. we let them hang around and believe, they are letting SMU hang around and believe.

People need to stop applying so much meaning to one game. Anything can happen. Upsets happen. ND almost lost to Virginia yet almost beat Clemson. 2007 Michigan lost to Appalachian State and won 9 games.

Game over. Temple almost lost to ND twice. Tough to get up after having Game Day in town one week and then playing in front of 200 people the next. Just win

There were no one in the stands. I was also watching Dartmouth and Cornell at the same time and I think there were more fans at that game. Temple has to do ND a solid by winning games. I don't put too much stock into tonight's score. A letdown was expected. That conference is going to be fun to watch, starting with Navy and Memphis. I love Navy because they are Navy and I love Memphis because of Beale Street, Graceland, bque at Corky's, Sun Studios, famed Liberty Bowl stadium, the mighty Mississip, fried catfish and hush puppies at Blue City Cafe, and of course, the Memphis blues.

You gotta think that the ND game plan got a little more attention too, and they've got Memphis coming up.

I knew a thread like this would pop up. comparing games is idiocy. the dynamic changes. I could care less about blowouts. wins are all that matters. pitt traditionally plays nd very tough. no reason to think it will be any different today. i'll take a 3-2 nd win all day long.

common opponent comparison will not always tell the truth. There are so many factors that are at play, of which football is a game of matchups.

TCU only beat SMU by 19 at home, the final final score was 56-37 and was 42-37 midway thru the 4th qtr. This week was a home conference game for SMU against a ranked opponent on national TV, with Temple coming off a heartbreaking loss in its schools biggest game ever.

Temple/SMU has little or nothing to do with Notre Dame season, just something for some to obsess over. The ND SOS is good again this year and an opponents victory helps that so that is a reason to like the outcome of this game.

On the other hand Pitt at 7-2, poised against the Irish will be Pitt's game of the year as usual. Expect a good game were ND may well be lackluster at times. I expect a great effort by Pitt and a very good game.

I also will accept a victory, regardless of the final tally.
