They’re about to finish off NC State. We can’t overlook them, I keep seeing the ND YouTubers bringing up the Clemson game already. We can’t overlook any game of course but Cuse will be a genuinely hard game where we might not be favored. They play Clemson next week I believe so we’ll see how that goes.

We look awesome and win convincingly vs cuse at their place, everyone gets confident we're back and good shot to beat clemson, only to have Clemson Defense have their best game of the season, and we score 13 points. As tommy calls 25 variations of A gap runs and we're constantly in 3rd and 7.
I'm not saying they would beat Clemson even if they do beat Cuse. I just don't think Cuse is that good, they are more on par with UNC and BYU. One thing is for sure we'll know Saturday.
Can ND beat Syracuse ? Yes. However , they have to play error free and someone other than Mayer has to step up. Pyne needs to play much much better as well. The defense has to play sound fundamental football and not give up big yardage plays. That’s a lot to ask, I know. But this team isn’t good enough to make costly mistakes and still pull out a win.
Agreed. But to me it comes down to the offense scoring points consistently and Pyne has to be accurate and get targets not named Mayer involved early and often.
Agreed. Syracuse isn’t great at anything but also isn't really weak at anything. The offense is top 30ish with an accurate, mobile QB and the defense is top 20ish.
We do not have to play error free. The team just needs to play and be set up for success rather than handcuffed.
If there is a good game plan on both sides of the ball and freeman has the team fired up and ready to play, we should win.
If there was ever a game that you want to put some young players in, it is this one. Tobias if he is played, could be the X factor. The little he has played , he has shown he has very good skills.
The D can do the job; when they are on their game.

It's nice to see the Orange have a good season - hopefully they can duplicate it going forward. ND has been the Road Warriors - expecting a close game with the Irish on top.
It’s a good defense but not top 5. Syracuse is 22nd in defensive efficiency and 39th in DFEI factoring in its opponents.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Syracuse wins, but this isn’t a great team we’re playing.
Why, exactly, are young players what the occasion absolutely calls for, against a totally decent to very good, if also beatable opponent like Syracuse?
What logical basis in any way is there for such a recommendation? You don't even have to limit yourself to 'logic' strictly speaking, just anything that's even remotely compelling as to why young, inexperienced players need/ought to play, particularly in a game like this.....
How did SYR hold off Clemson in the first half and take them to the last drive of the game, while on the road?

Syracuse has benefited from a weak schedule, and the game at Clemson - Clemson was trying to give the game away and Syracuse refused to take it. Clemson puts in a true freshman qb and comes back to win the game.

If Syracuse had hung on and beat Clemson they would be top 10 this week. A big if, but they had Clemson on the ropes. I think we can win, but Syracuse is a better team right now.
Once again, it will be on the offense, if they deliver we can win, and should and will win. That's what it will come down to....
