Frostproof (Fla.) Lake Wales four-star quarterback Xavier Gaines lists Notre Dame as one of his top schools. Gaines, who is ranked as the No. 8 dual-threat quarterback in the country, said at the Rivals Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour on Saturday, that the Irish have recently gained some traction with his recruitment.
"They're one of the top schools in my recruiting process right now. Probably No. 1 or 2 — I'm not going to say — but they are up there and I'm hoping to get up there [for a visit]," Gaines said.
