The Irish WOULD Die if the other schools across the nation told them to either join a conference, or NO Teams across the nation will play you in ANY Sports!!!

Why would all teams in the country enter into some type of agreement not to play Notre Dame? You were asked this previously and had no answer.

To answer this specific question, I could envision a point where conferences grow so large that there might only be room on the schedule for 1 or 2 non conference games. So ND's scheduling might become problematic at that point.

I know independence is highly valued at ND, but we have already seen every other sport go into conference play. IF and I say if we were to enter a conference for football, I think that the ACC is a better match than the Big whatever.

No...I was NOT asked that...It was said by a ND Fan "That would never happen"...That's NOT being asked a question!!!

My first post here asked if ND could/would survive without another conference to put it's other teams in...And that is a BIG NO!!!

The Irish NEED another conference...ANY Conference...For their other teams...That CAN NOT be Denied!!!

The other FBS (P-5 and G-5) Schools COULD...NOT that they WOULD...Tell The Irish...IF, you want to be INCLUDED in the Playoffs...You MUST join a conference in ALL Sports...OR, we WILL NOT Schedule you...That would DESTORY ALL of ND Programs!!!

I don't care if ND joins a conference or not...But they DONT belong in the ACC...Neither do Louisville, BC, Syracuse or Pitt...Likewise, neither do Maryland, Rutgers, Penn State or Nebraska belong in the BIG...Or Arkansas, Missouri, South Carolina or Texas A&M belong in the SEC!!!

IF anything...IF Notre Dame were in a conference...They would belong in a TRUE 10 Team BIG East Conference with Army, BC, Connecticut, Navy, Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse and Temple...You have more in common with those schools than you do the schools in any other conference...And, you have a long running history with several of them as well...And you could STILL play Michigan, Stanford and USC OOC...And/Or rotate them with Indiana, Michigan State and Purdue!!!

Even with your tradition, Michigan and Ohio State look at Notre Dame as a Spoiled Little Child...After all, you have your own network TV deal with NBC...Which would dry up if the other FBS Schools decided NOT to play ND in ANY Sports!!!

As I said in an earlier post...Other don't NEED You...Others WANT You...And that's a Compliment to The Fighting Irish!!!

However...OTHERS...COULD...BREAK Notre Dame if Push Came To Shove...That's a FACT!!!

There SHOULD be Eight Regional Conferences of Ten Teams...MAX...The other 50 Schools NEED to move to the FCS Level or become a separate division of their own, with their own playoff system!!!
