I was curious if someone might be able to give me some background on why Stepherson is in Kelly's dog house. I have heard it mentioned numerous times on the ND podcasts I listen to, and they even mentioned he might not be there for this season, but have not heard what exactly happened to get him there. Any background would be greatly appreciated.

I read an Eric Hansen Chat Transcript from NDInsider. He said it wasn't academic or legal IIRC. He is certainly working hard based on the body by Balis pictures and stats that I saw. Something is up and it sucks. 29 catches as a freshman and he wasn't starting. Great hands and route running. We could really use that talent.

It definitely does suck. He seems to have the most upside on the whole team.

He's been suffering through a nagging hamstring injury. He was in the game today and had 3 receptions for 75 yards.

I don't know what Stepherson's specific issue is or how things work in Fulton County, but sometimes sentencing details in drug/booze plea agreements depend on the results of a risk assessment. I've seen many defendants ask to continue sentencing dates because - for an endless variety of reasons - they fail to obtain the necessary assessment prior to the sentencing date.

That's just a wild ass guess. It could be a number of manageable things.

I think it started with the Redfield incident but seems like there may be more to this. He started out with the 3rd team this spring but seems like he is making his way back to the top of the lineup. He clearly has talent that ND football cannot afford to leave on the bench. He would be a captain on any sec program.

Hope we don't lose him. Seems to be one of our best deep threats so far.

The only thing I had heard during spring ball was that he was fighting a hammy injury, and that id did not begin to feel better until near the end. Had a couple of nice catches in the scrimmage.
