There was a chance that Coconut Creek (Fla.) Rivals100 cornerback Trayvon Mullen and his teammate, four-star wide receiver Binjimen Victor, would visit Notre Dame on Sunday, but that trip didn't happen. We're told that both players had to catch an early flight, but that doesn't mean that there isn't some South Florida talent still on campus.
Coconut Creek coach Kareem Reid said early Sunday morning, that he's in South Bend with a number of different underclassmen. One of them is rising junior defensive end Lashawn Paulino-Bell, who holds early offers from UCF, FAU and Temple.
While it's an unfortunate turn of events to not get Victor and Mullen on campus, it should be noted that both players are considered long shots for the Irish, despite interest at one point during the recruiting process.
Getting Reid and Paulino-Bell around assistant coach Autry Denson – however – should be beneficial to the Irish's recruiting efforts in South Florida down the line.
