OK, let's agree I joined after Kelly. That doesn't take into account that I have been a member of Mike Franks site, Scout, 247 (weeks) or here and came back. Now my question to you - what difference does it make when I joined?

Well said Boulder. I'm thankful for guys like IIO who post about the upcoming season and the players we can still get and his views on the offense, d and kelly's faults (and yes attributes.) We were all disappointed this year but the fact is Kelly is coming back. If he has another bad season he will be gone. Deal with it or jump on the Alabama bandwagon.

About Wimbush -- guys on this board were calling for him to start two years ago as a true freshman! And many felt he should be the choice this fall, so the feeling here is he is ready. Lets hope that is the case.

I've extended Kelly my support for seven years and could have been longer because there is 125 losers at the end of every season and one winner. It's very hard.

But the bridge has been burned down. He has no idea how to coach a winning football team and be upper competitive along with all the little details that go into it. Even if our record remained and we just ran into bad luck...OK. But this year really EXPOSED Brian Kelly for what he is. The quality of play was embarrassing.

We are so far from playing the way the elite teams do that it's downright embarrassing. Even when we went to play Bama as undefeated..last year in fiesta against osu..we're not even close to the upper teams. Penn State or USC would have put 75 points up on us yesterday.

Where are Brian Kelly odd defying wins?

He gets what the athletes give him, not the other way around. More times than not he takes away from those players.

What makes you, and others think coach Kelly will be shown the door after another bad season?
Is 8-5 a bad season? it's hard to say it is with a new QB, and so many new assistants, but it wont go over well with many either.

I don't see another 4-8.next ear and no worse than 8-5, so in my opinion he's here until he decides to leave...

I can't wait till the seasons starts so we can all stop the what if's and deal with the situation at hand. How the team looks and the W-L record at the end of the year. I for one do not believe we can have a year like we did this one it's virtually impossible.

Hey...we all want the same goal.

But the biggest thing just irritates the shit out of me aren't player related or things out of control.

#1 Tackling. I've can't remember a ND team that tackled so poorly and each year post Nix, Teo and that 12 team we've gotten significantly worse.

Fundamentally we are so under coached.

I don't care our record if we're playing good football. All those big bowl games the one thing they all shared was good tackling, ball skills, etc.

We've none of that.

So Wimbush could turn into something incredible but until we start playing better defense we're success will elude us.

usc, Penn State both put basically 50 pts on each other but they got key stops and we're warning. Got turnovers etc. Through energy.

Unless this changes we will continue to make bowl games we really don't deserve because our ratings factor but moment of truth time comes and we have to play the game we show everyone how far we are away.

I will be disappointed if the Irish only win 11 in 2017. The Irish are going to win at least 12!! Elko is the answer to our dreams ! The Irish pride has been wounded ! They will make there mark in Irish football history !!

Saying I am not going to focus on how much I wanted BK gone but instead am going to root for the team I plan my Saturdays around and hope for the best/a change next year is not being a BK apologist. Kelly is a great play caller between the 20's. Maybe the best in the business. I mean that.
The problem is if we don't get a long scoring play from outside the 20 he makes scoring a touch down so ****ing adventurous.

Also...after the 12 defense our defense has tackled like shit.

You know why our 12 defense was so good? If you've read my other threads on the other elite programs you'd know why.....and why our defense in 12 was so good. We had great NFL talent on that d line. Tuitt will have a long and possibly hall of fame career if he keeps progressing...and Nix...well Nix opted to eat more and such but he was special too.Kapron Lewis Moore...all special.
