Today we learned what kind of access we'll have to Notre Dame's preseason camp.
We will have full access to two practices on Friday, Aug. 5 and Friday, Aug. 19. We'll have limited viewing access to eight other practices. Those limited viewings include just the first five periods, which typically includes little competitive action. Tracking injuries and attendance is typically the highlight of those, though we'll see if that's different under Marcus Freeman. I'd give up three of those limited windows for another full practice, but we'll do the best we can with what we're allowed to see.
Just like in the spring, we'll get interview access to all the assistant coaches and players from each position group, which is a big for us as reporters and you as fans. Marcus Freeman will have three press conferences throughout the preseason before we get into game week. We'll get Tommy Rees and Al Golden twice during that span.
