I won't pile on the SEC. Even if I also can't stand what they've done to college football. They got away with outlier domination because they paid the most under the table at scale...with other programs eventually entering the game.
As we discussed, NIL, transfers, and professionalization means most SEC teams can't pay like the northern bluebloods and well back aspirational schools like Oregon. They know it. Most of my SEC friends acknowledge this now, realizing only Florida, Georgia, and Texas have the pockets.
Changing of the guard. These things go in cycles. I expect the BIG to dominate for some time, with ND actually. I expect FSU to surge, they have $$$.
Don't get me wrong. It couldn't happen to nicer guys than the SEC fans. They reveled in false domination, paying no heed to the destruction of the student-athlete concept.
But, like I said, I don't rub it in. Success is the best revenge. I want ND being the once and future champion to be the best revenge...letting the SEC stew in their juices.
