So if Iowa "barley" beats a 5 win Nebraska

No. Based upon what we saw yesterday, an good quarterback with a decent running game is going to give Iowa all sorts of problems. Clemson would score 30+ on Iowa. Clemson has a solid run defense. Iowa wouldn't have been able to run the same play over and over like they did yesterday and run for 20+ or long touchdowns. Nebraska is a horrible football team, and Iowa beat them by 8 points. MSU will beat PSU and beat Iowa. They will then get stomped in the first round of the playoff.
Lmao. You guys are hilarious. Watched big Notre Dame huge 19-16 win against powerhouse 3-8 BC.

What if Notre Dame barely beats a 3-win Boston College?
You didn't even watch the game, did you? Did you know that BC had the #1 ranked defense going into the game? No, you didn't. That game was never in doubt.

Iowa will get their asses kicked in the BIG Championship, and the Children of the Corn will go back to their proper place.

Most of these buffoons are not even Iowa fans. They are from losing teams just riding the Iowa coat tails to flame ND. Pretty bush league trolling if you ask me.

Those that haven't watched Iowa all year but watched their first game yesterday as their basis for why the aren't that good need to have their heads examined. One game in 20 degree weather with a stiff wind would cause many offenses to shut down a bit. Regardless of Nebraska's record, they do have a good front four. Iowa is 12-0 with road wins against Wisconsin and Northwestern by 30 points. If they win the conference championship game there is no way you can argue they don't deserve to be in the playoff. If they lose, then MSU (if they win today) may get in instead. ND has to beat Stanford first before they can start bitching about other teams and their easy schedule.

Name calling? The committee already had them at 4 before they finished the regular schedule 12-0. It's going to be 4 or higher if they win the B1G CG. Maybe ND fans should ask the administration to go all in with the ACC so the Irish have chance in the future to win a championship game to make it to the playoffs instead of whining about a 12 win division champion that needs to get win number 13 to earn a playoff berth on the field.
Arguing with all the dumb asses on this forum will drive you nuts. ND wants respect... go "all in" with the ACC or STFU!

Nebraska had a Top Ten rushing defense going into yesterday's game. Clemson's rush defense is around 20, one spot below Northwestern (who gave up 250+ rushing yards to Iowa). I don't expect anyone who doesn't watch Iowa frequently to watch any Iowa game and be impressed. Just understand that when Iowa is leading, they will run the most conservative offense of anyone in the country- they continue to run the ball into loaded boxes to try and run out the clock.

And I would love to make a wager with you if you believe MSU will crush Iowa in the B1G CG. Name your terms, and you can Venmo me the money after the game.

Are you blind? The Nebraska game was never in doubt either. Get a big tear rag for your game against Stanford. You'll need it!

I watched the Hawkeyes scuffle against Indiana. They're unbeaten but not unbeatable, imho.;)

I watched the Notre Dame vs Virginia game. What excuse do you have for that game?

Maybe ND should wake up and join the Big Ten. But that schedule would be too tough. The world has changed!!!! It ain't cool being an independent. You look foolish.

Who said Iowa was unbeatable? I simply stated those posters that haven't watched Iowa all year except the Nebraska game as their basis for saying Iowa wasn't good need to have their heads examined. Good is a long way from unbeatable.

It's not name calling if its true.

^dude transitive property doesn't work. We beat Navy, who beat Memphis, who beat Ole Miss, who beat Alabama. So we are better than Alabama? Don't know. I do know Nebraska stinks. Jury is out on MSU, who barely beat Rutgers.

Well, you guys lost to Stanford, who NW beat bad, and then Iowa beat that NW team by 30. Watch some other football. The Nebraska team, finally healthy, just beat MSU two weeks ago.

Nebraska also lost to Purdue. And Purdue lost to Bowling Green. See how easy it is to make ridiculous arguments?

gotta love the iowa yahoos puffing out their chests without playing anything other than average competition all year. in the written history of college football you'd find iowa a couple of pages ahead of rutgers. go sparty !

Iowa's schedule is not average. It's actually quite a bit below average ND's sos = 19 (actually higher since Stanford was not factored in ) and Iowa's sos =69. No way Iowa would be undefeated if they played ND's schedule.

Please list the good teams you beat this year. The only two teams that you guys played, that were above average, you lost to. Man up and join a conference.

No, that literally makes no sense in reference to Iowa. I was responding to the original post of "Every team in the top 25 would be undefeated playing that BS schedule". The closest thing to include ND, is the stanford/NW connection, that clearly favors Iowa. I thought being a ND board, I wouldn't have to hand feed you guys.

You were suggesting that Nebraska is a quality opponent because they beat Michigan St. I merely pointed out that they also lost to Purdue.

Idiot. Man up and join a conference? ND's SOS is # 19. Ohio St's SOS is # 61. Iowa's SOS is # 62. Man up, so we can play a lot of weak teams like you do?

Teams that use the SOS argument are teams with losses. You wouldn't have gone undefeated with Iowa's schedule either. Temple and Navy, had a worse SOS then Iowa, and worse records, but I don't see you guys downplaying your wins over them anywhere. They wouldn't be anywhere near the top 25 with Iowa's schedule. The SOS argument is a joke, Iowa played the big ten slate it was handed. We'd be undefeated with Clemson's schedule too. Out of conference we played #4 FCS Illinois State, ISU(in state rival that many Iowa fans wish we would get rid of, but are forced to play), Pitt, and North Texas(weak). We won at ISU, at NW(10-2), at Wisky(9-3), at Indiana, and at Nebraska(the same place MSU just lost). Everyone wants to knock Iowa's schedule, while comparing us to other highly ranked teams. What they don't admit, is that those other highly ranked teams have already lost to teams, similar to those on Iowa's schedule. Oklahoma lost to Texas, Bama to ole Miss, MSU to Nebraska(Iowa beat), Stanford to NW(Iowa beat). Sorry to vent, 6 straight weeks of bashing Iowa's schedule by ESPN builds frustration. Now everyone wants to jump on the Okie bandwagon because they beat Baylor and TCU's backup QB's. Barely beat TCU too.

That's just asinine. All kinds of teams use SOS. Bama, for instance has a top 5 SOS. The only people who pretend that SOS is irrelevant are fans of schools which play crappy schedules. And if you believe, as you say, that SOS "is a joke," no one is going to treat you with any respect. Because claims like that make it obvious that you don't know what you are talking about.

No, I was pointing out that Iowa won at a place, that MSU just lost two weeks ago. It is apparent that many on here think MSU is really good, so I thought that would be relevant in that regard. Nebraska also didn't have their starting QB against Purdue. Imagine how bad his backup is.

I dunno. ND's third string QB led ND to nine wins this season.

Which would make one think Bama has played an incredibly tough schedule. Yet, they have only played 2 teams in the top 25 CFP rankings, and have as many top 25 wins as Iowa(one), and Iowa's is opponent is higher ranked. If Miss St drops out after their loss this week, Bama will have no top 25 wins. Think about that while I leave. Good luck in your bowl game.

Iowa is built on solid defense and a grind it out mentality. Those type of teams generally do not blow out anyone but they win. I agree Iowa schedule lacks but they are solid and deserve the ranking and if they beat MSU then they should be in the playoff's . Nebraska QB is average at best and makes a lot of poor decisions otherwise they would have defeated Iowa. Also in college football there is no direct relationship if A beats B by 50 and C beats B by 2 it does not mean A beats C by 48. In fact C may be favored against A
