The Irish lost starting quarterback Malik Zaire for the season in Saturday's win at Virginia, but he might not be the only starter on offense not to play in the next game.
Junior tight end Durham Smythe is questionable for the Georgia Tech game on Sept. 19, Irish head coach Brian Kelly said Sunday. Smythe hobbled off the field in the first quarter. The Belton, Texas, native, who scored his first touchdown in the first quarter, returned to the game and didn't appear to show signs of discomfort.
Notre Dame has lost four starters to injury since Aug. 14.
