SI Report - Mike Sanford new HC at Western Kentucky

What a shame that Kelly never allowed him to show off the offense he wanted to run like he did at BSU.

That's what happens when your a control freak. BK can't get out of his own way. Hope he does well. Seems to have a good football mind. Creative.

Good luck to him and his family.

Excellent! If Kelly does well maybe he lasts until 2018 and Sanford will be ready to be a big boy head coach by then.

Don't be surprised to see Jurkovec taking visits .... yes .... things could get worse .... with Kelly still here that is probably likely

Well, you lose your starting QB who was named a captain by the head coach and then your best offensive mind and probably the 1 coach players liked the most all in 1 December day. Just a normal day in the world of ND football.

Hey, were ND football - we keep our head in the sand. No worries. We will get our 8 wins next season just like Iowa does.

It's all good with Jack and his $22 million.dollar man.

BK's has had 3 assistants leave for head coaching jobs- Martin, Diaco and Sanford?

Congrats to him. Makes me feel like it was a wasted hire cause he never really got to have control of the offense and don't think any OC ever will under Kelly. So what was the purpose of BK ever bringing him here as a coach?

I really hope this paves the way for Jeff Quinn to be the next OC. Kelly's most successful seasons have come when Quinn is calling the plays.

So -- with Sanford leaving for WKU, does he take any of ND's assistants with him?

Good move for Sanford. Will be surprised if he isn't super successful, and being talked about for head coach opportunities at Conf five schools a couple seasons from now.
