I've seen some lists of defensive tackles and I believe he us ranked too low. They have him around 10th or so amongst tackles.

I think he did a lot more with less supporting cast around him than a lot of others in front of him.

I believe he should be top five, maybe top three of the DT's taken.

We'll see. Never know what exactly the NFL teams are looking for.

Some simply go after players with "star power" (Dan Snyder & Redskins for example) while others draft players we've never heard of.

Simply hurt by his lack of height. NFL loves measurables.

4th or 5th Rd IMO------can be a situational guy initially-------give you 20 snaps a game.

prior to '15 he was having trouble with the injury bug
he might be a bit undersized for either DT (weight) or DE (height)

He really is locked into one position and one scheme. A 4-3 aligned tackle.

He is too small (funny I know to say someone 290#) is small ...too small for a nose tackle in the 3-4. He is just not the perfect build for a defensive end in a 4-3.

His athleticism and energy will make some team a very productive tackle in the 4-3.

As I said earlier … you never know.

I agree Day is on the smaller side (short not necessarily weight) … but he has a motor that some teams may be looking for.

So come draft time, if a team has a need at DL and is looking for a man with a motor then Day may go early. But if the team that needs a DL and wants a traditional tall guy or an immovable mountain to clog up the middle, then they'll bypass Day.
