This is what we projected last fall and during the winter - but not exactly the same names. The seven who will be playing this spring are:
QB Everett Golson
Slot Amir Carlisle
OC Nick Martin
TE Chase Hounshell
LB Jarrett Grace
LB Joe Schmidt
S Matthias Farley
Last fall we would have guessed it would be guard Matt Hegarty on offense instead of Hounshell (moved over from defense), and maybe Ben Councell on defense instead of Grace, who we thought would be in medical limbo.
Receiver Cam Bryan and cornerback Connor Cavalaris, who arrived as walk-ons, also are listed as grad students. Cavalaris was put on scholarship as a senior last August, but those are renewable year to year.
