SEC Off to A Bad Start

I think the offensive revolution has helped closed any talent gap between other conferences and sec. I think the talent gap has narrowed. But I do think the former has helped.
I think that is one part of it. Throw in coaching staff changes. After years of SEC being on top most of their top ast's got raided. Its hard to replace a Sark or a Smart. Sport also goes through cycles. SEC had a longer cycle than most but there is alot of storied programs that are tired of not being in the big game.

Too bad for the PAC12… always felt like they were the deepest just missed the marquee program with USC being down for so many years. Now it’s all gone. The PAC2 look legit and will be in the MWC

You mean NIL & Transfer portal.

Miami and FSU have not changed, wholesale, their offensive operation/scheme.

But their collectives have ponied up and improved recruiting and transfer portal talent.

That’s certainly part of it. But the top SEC teams aren’t playing games in the teens and twenties anymore.

I’m not saying “offensive revolution” is the biggest thing. Just think it’s one of many.

I think it’s harder for them to go out there and dominate defensively like they used to

I think Auburn is going to pull this one out vs Cal. If so, that will only be the SEC's second win vs P5 opponents this season.

The PAC is undefeated in OKC play but that should end in about ten seconds with losses by Cal and ASU.

SEC been the dominant conference for so long that you gotta go a long way back to find a a start where the SEC lost every marque conference match up to start a season. Its a welcome change.
I think it’s a few things.

NIL for sure. The SEC is finally playing road games against top tier teams as well. Biggest item is UGA and A+M and them taking talent from Nick. He was the best coach with the best talent at every position. But no longer..

Texas is in the SEC

PAC 12 as described by Bob Dylan in the criminally underrated She's Your Lover Now: "It's Just Like the Last Pistol Shot of a Dying Man Baby."
So sad because the parity this year is fantastic, and especially with Colorado pushing ratings, what might have been for the Conference of Champions.....

Do hope either Oregon State or Washington State wins the conference.
