Couple of quick recruiting notes.
- Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) High three-star safety Devin Studstill and defensive end Vandarius Cowan are still on campus. They are getting one final tour before they leave and spending some on-on-time with the coaching staff. Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola three-star cornerback Carlos Becker is also part of that group.
- Canadian three-star wide receiver Chase Claypool met with Irish associate head coach Mike Denbrock this morning. So did Corona (Calif.) Centennial Rivals100 wideout Javon McKinley. We're told that both visits went well, and that the Irish feel comfortable with where they stand with both prospects. Once source said that both prospects aren't ready to commit, but progress was made.
- Warner Robins (Ga.) High four-star wide receiver Marquez Callaway continues to say positive things about Notre Dame. He plans to return in the for an official visit during the season.
- We heard last night that there was a chance Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill three-star defensive end Tomon Fox might stay through Sunday, but that's not the case. Fox is en route to the North Carolina for the Freak Show – which is the Tar Heels' version of the Irish Invasion.
- Notre Dame didn't offer Williamsburg (Va.) Lafayette three-star linebacker Chase Pine a scholarship on Friday, but the staff did invite him to the Texas game on Sept. 5. Pines says there's a good chance that will be his first official visit.
