I was thinking about something with the defense...

Ever since BVG cane here every player has either regressed from their first year ...or just became stagnate in their maturation.

They only physically mature ...

They don't mature with technique and quality of play.

I swear Cole Luke ..Trumbetti to name two were better playing as freshmen.

Most of these players have decent high school coaches who keep things simple with technique and proper form...etc. playing with energy

Joe Schmidt...the longer he played here the worse he got. Seriously this trend is bizarre.

Jaylon...I can say he was so physically gifted but again did we see a player that was so incredible being a third year starter with such polish?

How in the **** does Trumbetti go from wreaking some havoc as a freshman to not even remotely close to impacting anything two years later. ? He's an empty jersey out there now. Luke is same way.

Tranquil...in his brief healthy time he was becoming a great run support safety.

Now where is he? Bad angles...lost in the trash...etc.

I've said this before...BVG is the worst hire ever in ND football. Just atrocious.

We get a 5 star kid on defense rest assured by his junior year BVG will have him playing like a three or two star. And I'm NOT exaggerating...SADLY❕

until there is real proof or reason to dispute your opinion it looks pretty much the state of the matter.

the 5* DB in this week, Wade, left and ND did not help the cause with that performance.
He Came, he saw, he winced, he left.

We're re-living the Weis years with our defense. Remember when Diaco had guys like Bennett Jackson, Jamoris Slaughter and Zeke Motta get drafted? These were not highly recruited players, but they played in a fundamentally sound system. I miss those days.

Quick question, Where'd you come up with that handle? There was a guy nicknamed Shooter in '77 ...lived in Dillon...Coincidence?
