Graded at 91.2 in the 2nd round of CFP.

He was the highest graded Edge vs anyone else who played in the tourney.

Good for him. Would love to see him play that well again vs PSU. Does anyone have insight to the strengths of PSU OL? How does it match up vs our DL.

Also....Moore was the highest graded DB. Adon was the highest graded Safety

Awesome to see guys step up at the right time.

I watched Landon Tangwall’s podcast who did a little bit of a segment regarding Oben and he had very positive things to say. Maybe he’s putting it all together now and playing with confidence?

Still amazes me that RJ's first sack of the entire season was his strip sack/fumble of Gunner Stockton just before the half in the Sugar Bowl game. Could not have come at a better time! We will need him to continue to come up big with all our injuries across the DL. And Junior Tuihalamaka played lights out, too.

I am not sure where we would be this year without the steady play of Leonard Moore and Adon Shuler. Those kids are just ballers. Moore got thrown into the fire early due to Ben Mo's injury, and he has played lights out. Who saw that coming? Very impressive. The depth that Freeman and his staff have built on this team is incredible, and is one of the real differences with teams over the last couple of decades.

IrishMike, I was totally in awe of Oben’s play against Georgia. I kept asking where the hell this Oben has been all season. This was the guy we thought we were getting when we recruited him out of the portal, and even better. Our coaches have said week after week that they still believed in him, and that it just takes some longer than others to make the adjustment to a new school, new coaches, new system, etc…. I viewed this as Coach speak and the reality that we had little choice. Was this an aberration or was the Georgia Tackle that bad or is this the Oben we can expect to see against Penn St?

I wonder if Oben will end up playing in the NFL, and he was always good, but just didn't really get into the flow, and didn't adjust to the new schemes and milieu and such. But since it's the playoff, and the team needs him, he's caught up in the moment, and it's finally coming out of him.

It's not like there was that much to adjust to, though. Just get around or through the tackle and disrupt the QB.

LSU had a transfer LB who was all PAC-12, and just made the all rookie team as an undrafted free agent. And he was a total bust for them after transferring in as a grad transfer portal guy. So sometimes maybe it just doesn't click in a different environment, for whatever reason, and that's why they sucked. But they're still good. Of course could have been just playing for BK because he sucks as a coach and all that.

In any case, it's all hands on deck on the DL, so hopefully he keeps flashing.

That's big time praise. Love hearing it.

We'll need a similar effort Thursday.

That's what I think it is. He just wasn't clicking, one of the inherent downsides of the portal. Sometimes it just doesn't click. But now, in the playoff, you forget about all that, no homesickness, no self-pity or whatever it might be that might be kind of holding you back, whatever little hangups, you forget about all that stuff and just let it all hang out. It really is all hands on deck on time.
