Swarbrick has been a Kelly enabler and needs to go too.

He also has been a feckless negotiator by allowing the opposing team to always bring their conference refs with them even for ND home games.

I don't trust Swarbrick to make our next coaching hire any more than a USC fan would trust Pat Haden to botch another hire for them.

Like ND with its half-in, half-out of the ACC has any control over who the refs are. Once upon a time, teams could be independent. That era is over, and we are the sole survivor. Every year going forward our options will more and more restricted until we are forced to join a conference.

I do hope they finally begin to figure this out. I mean I was fooled not once, but twice (2012 and 2014-15). I won't be fooled a third time if Kelly somehow keeps his job and gets off to a quick start next year.

swarbrick has built great facilities all over the campus and plus has our irish as one of the best all around sports schools in the country but yet some of you want him fired just because of our football team having an off season. jack has made some mistakes but our irish have top notch facilities and compete for conference titles in lots of sports because of him

BS! A large endowment allows him to build nice facilities. It's not that hard to build things with other people's money.

BS we have no control over who the refs are for home games. We can insist for neutral refs (i.e. Big 12, SEC refs, etc.) for home games for sure and possibly for away games too.

They both have not done their job to ND standards and both need to go.

Swarbrick needs to get Kelly out
And give the next coach the ammunition that every coach has.
Jucos.
No more bullshit.
If not , don't feed us the bullshit about competing for national championship talk or we are almost there after getting destroyed vs Bama.
Our defensive line sucks and usually sucks. Year in and Year out.

Fix this shit !

Yeah, yeah, yeah, - listen, Swarbrick is going nowhere but here. He is a very good AD. One of the best in the industry. I've been against Kelly for over 2 years. Glad to see people have finally recognized how someone becomes Peter Principled. Kelly is in way over his head. The gimmicks he used at his previous stops don't work at this level. It's that simple and he has no way of changing. BVG might get launched after this season, good luck finding a talent, with this ship sinking (and don't think the other coaches in the community don't see this as well), to be hired by Kelly. Next year will be the same, Get ready for it, and then, all the time and space for him to fail will have been given by the administration. All sides will mutually agree to part ways - but just remember recruiting this year and next will be severely effected. Whoever comes in will need to be prepared to hit the recruiting side very, very hard. A real - unchristian approach (and the right business one) would be to blow this up after this season. Just don't think the Fathers, the Board and the faithful will want to, or have the courage, to go this route. So another year. Whoever they look at, go young, go bold and allocate enough money for the next coach to hire and outstanding staff to both support and recruit for the program. That means multiple coaches with 7 figure compensation packages. If you change, do it right and support a talented new head coach and staff.

if Jack cannot grasp the situation then Jack is indeed part of the problem.
How long can excuses be substituted for success?

you are full of it football1irish for wanting to fire swarbrick when our irish are competing for conference titles every year in multiple sports. you can't fire him just because you don't like how one sports team is playing

The problem is no one cares about conference titles in meaningless sports. Football used to be king at ND. The King is dead. Has been since Lou was forced out in 1996. ND should join The Ivy League. That is what they aspire to be.

They won't be able to milk the cash cow of the past if they joined the Ivy League so that won't happen. They'll just keep up the lie they have been feeding the fanbase for over 2 decades that they are dedicated to fielding a championship football team and continue to soak up the money.

That is the problem the Irish are competing for conference titles every year in multiple sports. ND should be competing for national titles in multiple sports. The bar has been lowered.
