Kelly has nothing to prove as far as being a top notch coach. He has done a great job at ND. Yes, he has lost some games he should have won. He isn't perfect. Who is, Nick Saban, Urban Meyer? These guys have won multiple national championships and both teams looked bad yesterday at home. Having said all of this, 5 starters down 3 games into the season isn't good, but it is further proof that Kelly has built quality depth at ND. Hopefully no one gets injured against UMASS and ND takes care of business (UMASS gave Temple fits yesterday). On a different note, there is a local CB at Whitehaven HS that ND is looking at according to an article in our local newspaper yesterday. Whitehaven plays in the largest school league in TN and they produce a lot of SEC talent every year.

Its a long season, what makes a great coach is getting your team to improve as the season goes on. You have maintain and finish strong. But with all the catastrophic injuries ND has taken, you have to develop more playmakers to continue to improve and keep your stars fresh.

I guess since you got such a great response attacking DIP, you figured you would try your luck again but this time it kind of fell flat from a logic perspective. Keep trying through. Season is not over yet and we still have to play USC so you may be eating your words. It is how you finish, not how you start.
