As the recruiting calendar inches its way to the end of the dead period, which runs through Feb. 28, recruits continue to plan out visits for the coming months.
Notre Dame can resume hosting recruits on campus for unofficial visits starting March 1, though many of the visitors likely won’t be scheduled to arrive until later in the month when the Irish start spring practices.
Starting April 1, Notre Dame can also start hosting official visits for 2024 recruits. Notre Dame has traditionally tried to wait until June or the start of home football games to host official visits, so expect most official visits to occur in those windows.
Inside ND Sports caught up with a handful of Notre Dame targets who have recently set plans to visit the Irish.
2024 DE target Cameron Clark
Rivals slates Cameron Clark as a three-star tight end, but defensive line coach Al Washington is recruiting Clark as a defensive end for the Irish. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Clark reported a Notre Dame offer on Feb. 9. Now he plans to make an unofficial visit to Notre Dame on March 3.
The Notre Dame visit will be his first of the upcoming quiet period before embarking on visits to Purdue (March 4), Vanderbilt (March 25), Duke (April 8) and Mississippi State (April 15).
2024 LB target Brian Huff
Brian Huff might be hard to pull out of Arkansas. The Jonesboro (Ark.) Valley View junior received his first scholarship offer from Arkansas in January of last year and has visited the Razorbacks three times since then.
The Irish will try to convince Huff of an opportunity outside of The Natural State. Defensive coordinator extended a Notre Dame offer to Huff on Jan. 19. Nearly a month later, Huff received a four-star rating from Rivals after being ranked as the No. 20 outside linebacker in the 2024 class.
The 6-3, 210-pound Huff plans to visit Notre Dame on March 28 for an unofficial visit.
2024 DE target Cole Mullins
Cole Mullins entered 2023 with only four scholarship offers from Wake Forest, Duke, Vanderbilt and Pittsburgh. Now the 6-4, 240-pound junior at Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek has 18 offers.
Washington put Notre Dame’s hat in the ring with an offer on Jan. 19. The recent run of offers for Mullins also included the likes of USC, Miami, North Carolina, Kentucky and Stanford.
Mullins plans to make an unofficial visit to Notre Dame on April 19. He also plans to visit Duke on April 1 and Wake Forest on April 6. He visited both of those schools in January too.
2024 DE target Anelu Lafaele
The visit is nearly four months away, but three-star defensive end Anelu Lafaele has already scheduled an official visit to Notre Dame for June 16-18. The 6-3, 230-pound product of Honolulu St. Louis received an offer in December to continue Notre Dame’s Hawaii pipeline.
Lafaele attends the same school that sent defensive end Jordan Botelho to Notre Dame. Irish special teams coordinator Brian Mason has been given the responsibility of recruiting Hawaii for Notre Dame and already made multiple trips out there in the last year.
Rivals ranks Lafaele as the No. 26 weakside defensive end in the 2024 class. His offer list includes the liks of Wisconsin, Utah, Oklahoma, Washington, BYU and Colorado.
2024 WR target Jason Robinson
Jason Robinson ditched a verbal commitment of nearly 17 months to USC on Valentine’s Day. The four-star wide receiver from Long Beach (Calif.) Poly will be looking for love in other places while still keeping an eye on the Trojans.
Colorado was the last school to host the 5-10, 170-pound Robinson on a visit in January. Prior to that, Notre Dame and Utah hosted Robinson for game-day visits last season. He watched the Utes beat Stanford on Nov. 12 and the Irish beat Boston College the following Saturday.
Robinson told Inside ND Sports he’s working on setting up a visit with Notre Dame but he hasn’t quite pinned down the date yet. Irish wide receivers coach Chansi Stuckey visited Robinson’s school in January.
Rivals ranks Robinson as the No. 41 wide receiver in the 2024 class.
