The kid was huge tonight. I did not want to post it because we couldn't afford a negative vibe, but up until this game, he'd never had a good tournament game (Big East or NCAA) in his career. I looked up every game and in like 12 games he'd never shot 50% from the field in any game. The closest he came to a good game was probably the Duke game with a good defensive effort and some assists, but his shooting has been horrible in tournament games and he's nearly doubled his turnover rate from the regular season.
He still did not shoot 50% tonight, but he hit 15-18 free throws, had a remarkable ten assists and even more remarkably only turned the ball over twice. Hope that breaks his tourney jinx. He certainly didn't play scared tonight and attacked the hoop relentlessly all night.
