Realistic playoff chances

I think it is more useful to list how GOOD the rest of the teams on the schedule are according to Sagarin instead of their SOSs. His PREDICTOR rankings:

Navy 40th
USC 2nd
Temple 55th
Pitt 37th
Wake 82nd
BC 59th
Stanford 4th

The only real dog is Wake so ND should be able to hold a pretty solid SOS. A conference championship game upset or two and 11-1 ND has a decent shot.

Ehh. Too soon to say. Remember it was only a few years ago that LSU went as the second seed with 2 losses? ND only has to get in as a 4th seed with one loss. Chances aren't great but remember Yogi Berra for gosh sakes.

Go Blue

any season ND beats USC is (for me) a successful season. That game is still in front of us!

ND will not be in any playoffs with one loss since they aren't in any conference championship unless there are no other 1 loss teams. There will always be at least 1 0ne loss team in each conference and they are ahead of ND. ND gets in when they are undefeated. One from the SEC, B10, B12 and ACC. Clemson or FState. I think most of you know this already. Just read Sweeney comment about 13 games, basically saying you need to be in a conference or go undefeated.

Actually this team might be better than the one with 2013 team.

Who is this Sweeney fellow you mention?

According to who?

According to Sagarin, ND has a SoS rank of 30. Left on the schedule are:
Navy - 105
USC - 48
Temple - 100
PITT - 18
Wake - 67
BC - 107
Stanford - 6

Now that isn't to say I think ND is in at 11-1. I think if the SEC champ, B1G champ, and PAC champ are all 1 loss. Than ND is fighting against the ACC and the B12 for the last spot. And if Clemson wins out, ND will be looking from the outside along with the B12 again. If Clemson stumbles anywhere, or if the B1G or PAC implodes is ND's best chances. I'm still not sold on the B12 for this year.

You are correct on that I believe when I was looking it had bit updated ND schedule to account for Clemson.
