Notre Dame women's basketball over the past 12 years . Even though they were second to UConn for many years ,I always enjoyed watching their up tempo game . After viewing several games this year ,it looks like many of the women's college teams have caught up to ND , buy nobody ,nobody is anywhere near UConn .

ND was loaded with S. Diggins , K.McBride ,,N. Achonwa , J Lloyd .Micaela Mabrey ,etc,. Now it seems there is a drop off in talent . Notre Dame missed out on getting Samuelson (UConn) and this year's 2017 recruiting #1 wing player Megan walker headed to UConn and #2 ranked Evina Westbrook headed to Tenneesee.

I had a lot of hope ND could overtake UConn this year especially with a #1 pre season ranking ,but after watching UConn posting 40 plus point wins with the games over in the first 20 minutes while ND games come down to the last 6 or so minutes .

ND women don't seem to have that pure outside shooter . Also ND defense has to get a lot better , but I actually still like to watch the girls.

We have been at least a minor disappointment so far, but there's a lot of games between now and March. And what looked like an epic loss against NC State last week took on a bit of a different look after NC State knocked off Top 6 Louisville in their next game.

Was hoping that that the NCST loss would serve as a wake up call. Three main weaknesses to overcome: 1) bad defense needs a lot of work, 2) bad passing/turnovers needs a lot of work, 3) free throw shooting---losing a lot of points at the line. They are missing Madison Cable, the elder Mabrey and Hannah much more than I expected. The freshmen are okay but don't look like national players of year to me. Rebounding could be better also. Will be fortunate to make final four again unless they improve significantly.

Enjoy watching the ladies play. Especially enjoyed it back when we had Diggins, Novosel, Mallory, McBride and Cable ... they were adept at getting open on back door plays and making the layups. Now days, they just seem to go through the motions and never really get open ... and they do miss a lot of makable layups now.

AS for free throws ... they really, really got to improve in that area.

Turner also seems to miss a lot of close up shots. I'd expect a higher shooting percentage from her, considering all of her shots are from close up.

Our talent level is still nearly the best so it's up to the Coach to figure it out. Scoring 55 by halftime against WF who shot above 50% was not too shabby last night.

Watching ND girls at Miami . This team is going to have a difficult time reaching the final four . Where to start . Passing ,turnovers , defense is decent but not great . Offense seems very ragged and some of the wild layup shots at the basket , also had a lot of trouble getting into the post which opens up passes to the wings .

Westbeld ,6'2" the only tall girl, other than Turner , thought she would be more of a force under the basket , having a very average season
Well , McGraw has to figure this out , still root for girls no matter , but something is definitely missing ,seems like the weakest team in years

Exactly what I thought at the beginning of the season. They're a good team but something just seems to be missing. They seem to be lackadaisical on offense ... no real sharp cuts, crisp passes, etc.

But like you, I still root for them and am glad when they win.
