Tranquill was wildly inconsistent early in the season, but over the last three games he's really settled in and played good football. His last two games were especially effective.
Assuming ND makes a bowl game and he gets a 13th game, Tranquill is on pace to rack up 59 solo tackles and 91 tackles. The solo tackles would surpass what Harrison Smith did in 2010 and 2011, and his total tackles would tie Smith's 2010 season.
I'm not saying he's as good as Harrison Smith - he's not, not even close - but it does show that Tranquill has been very productive this season, especially when he plays under control, which he has the last two games.
