Thanks to all who submitted questions for our latest podcast. Loved the added participation from The Lounge. These are the topics I tackled with @Eric Hansen (with timestamps).
37:13 | @IrishDisney33: Do you think Pyne is on a short leash if things don’t go as planned to give Angeli a shot or do they ride with Pyne regardless? With that said, do they fear mixing in Angeli and things not improving just causing complete chaos for not only this season but into next season?
40:24 | @CharlesWWolfe: Definitely not putting all of the struggles on one person, but is there a case to be made that perhaps ND is 2-0 if Phil Jurkovic was here? I didn’t like the way he left, but is talented and has a veteran presence.
45:13 | @henrybeede: Has the calculus on CJ Carr reclassifying changed in the past two weeks?
47:49 | @DomenGolder: I have a theory that Tommy Rees will make a much better NFL OC than college. Everyone says he’s a good play caller, but he’s proving unable to develop talent and prepare his team, which is more critical to college than pro. Sorry not a ? but would like to hear your thoughts.
52:46 | @realdddealmav: What are your thoughts on Rees as a QB developer? Buchner has struggled and Pyne looked like he regressed
54:11 | @MSDomer: I was listening to the radio broadcast of the Marshall game. Ryan Harris mentioned in pregame that the talent disparity was obvious, and Notre Dame should dominate the game. Yet, it was Notre Dame that was dominated in the trenches. What is the explanation for the subpar performance of the offensive line given the talent level at each position and the group as a whole? An anomaly or a harbinger of things to come in 2022?
58:19 | @henrybeede: Should Patterson be moved back to center?
1:01:31 | Marie Biafore - @biafore_marie: Eric and Tyler you are now the co-head coaches for the week. Do you think Chris Tyree should be getting a lot more touches? The tight end blocking has been extremely poor, do you think you would significantly decrease the use of 12 personnel?
1:05:55 | Babaganoush - @PLACT_ITFDB: I realize this season has unique issues but if u had to compare does it feel more like 2007 or 2016?
1:10:20 | IThinkYourGreat - @nd_tanner: 1.) Let me be the one to ask since we are all thinking it…Still no #1 jersey being used. Why? 2.)Does the fact that teams like Marshall who had I believe 20+ transfers and SC with their amount show a bit of the downside/upside of NIL and the transfer portal?
1:18:52 | @BrettKovach: Before the Ohio State game everyone said ND would be better off if they played Marshall first before Ohio State, if they had lost to Marshall at home and then had to travel to play Ohio State in week 2 how much different do you think the Ohio State game would have been?
1:21:41 | @drodatdrodat: things seemed off all weekend in south bend, the whole vibe felt weird on campus; pep rally was meh, band sounded bad in the stadium, fans seemed unenthused. am i reaching? did you or anyone there feel it felt “off” as well?
