Is it just me, or were others here wondering why Zaire wasn't getting many snaps under center to try and break some plays on the ground in those conditions?

Watching that #2 from NC State do the wildcat made me wonder why we didn't at least give Malik a few plays. Or why we were late in the 2nd quarter before our first called QB running play. This was a game where Kizer should have had no less than 10 carries, probably more, and he had almost none. Really bizarre.

We were wondering until reflection which showed 37 drop backs.

That's why he wasn't used more because until NC state showed Kelly how to move the ball in a hurricane, ....well even then Kelly ignored it until about 5 mins to go.

It's so easy to be a Monday-morning QB, but I was thinking the same thing about midway through the 2nd quarter. Then, the analysts said that same thing at halftime.

How the hell do you expect to throw the ball downfield in those conditions? Halftime was about an hour, so the coaches had plenty of time to talk it over.

Get a jumbo package out there with Luatua or Matuska and just POUND THE DAMN BALL.

I know this is a Mr. Obvious question....but I was thinking from Zaire's perspective..He must have thought this was his chance to shine and win a game.

So many things can go wrong playing football in a hurricane. Bad snaps, bad handoffs, incomplete passes, interceptions, fumbles, etc... are all in play when playing in those conditions. The less you snap long, the less you handoff, the less you pass, etc... improve your odds for keeping turnovers and negative yard plays to a minimum. NCS did this in the second half, and we didn't. So yes, I was surprised and amazed that MZ didn't get a number of snaps. The offensive guy has the advantage over the defensive guy when running in those conditions, and I would liked to have seen MZ run behind a wall of blockers. Just have to believe we would have scored more than 3 points if we had committed to the run and given MZ the opportunity to carry us. Perhaps MZ is in the dog house for attitude, because Kelly has failed to get him significant minutes in any of these games, and the NCS game was the most obvious one where he might have made the winning difference, and so we all collectively scratch our heads at these boneheaded decisions.

Isn't it funny that 6 weeks ago bk was talking about playing two qb's. Then when an ideal opportunity presents itself to play your running qb, the idiot decides not to play him. He is clueless.

Can anyone tell me how many TD's the wild cat QB from NCS scored?

That game was stupid. Might as well ask the two coaches to flip a coin at the beginning of the game for W or L.

Kelly is a horrible in game coach. Also bad defensive and special teams coach. LOL.
