BW. I like the kid. He is a weapon with his feet. But I never liked his throwing motion -- he's missed a half dozen long td throws this year.

Coaches: is it correctable? This is his third year at ND and it doesn't seem to have improved.

Maybe a better question, has any quarterback improved under Kelly while at Notre Dame?

Throwing motion is a very tough thing to alter. To me it's about adjusting it but if you get too stuck on it, you can have a negative impact on the player IMO. Impeccable footwork will make the most improvement.Sam Darnold has a windup in his throwing motion. He drops the ball to his hip. But his hip transfer and footwork is really good.

BW has been hit or miss (more) all year with his accuracy. Last Saturday night it was eye opening to watch him start to throw 3/4 arm slot. How in the hell does that happen??? He doesn't strike me as a kid who let's the spot light get to him, but it might have Saturday night.

Darnold is a winner. Yeah, he's made a couple of dumb throws but he's taken a team decimated by graduation and injuries and has them ready to win the Pac 12 -- he nearly got them the win vs. Wash St. but got crushed (and looked mediocre) vs us (actually similar to our season, a tough loss to a good team and a blowout vs a good opponent). Sam can make all of the NFL throws -- and his young receivers are starting to get it. If there is chaos in the last few weeks look to Darnold and USC to make a run for the final four.
