Since we have at least a month of posts ahead of us that will inevitably debate recruiting star rating vs. potential, here's some fuel to start the fire!

QB star ratings are based on raw physical skills. Being a successful QB is so much more complex than that though.
BUT, scouts and HC's and GM's all look first at the physical gifts.

if there is a 'fire' the fuel is 'misunderstanding'

A good look back to those players now.

The Tom Brady story then and even at pro level is interesting. How late he was drafted and such. Incredible actually given not just the good career but great career.

It has to be more difficult today rating these QB's because there are very few conventional drop back passing schemes at the High school level and on up. Until you get to the NFL where traditional formations are still king.
