It's often interesting to see what voters out there think of things.

Auburn still ranked in the Coaches. Yikes.

SC still ahead of Stanford in AP. Good analysis.

Mizzou ranked on the merits of beating SE Mizz, Ark St, and UConn (barely). There has to be another team that has done something to be more deserving of this spot.

It's not very interesting until after week 6. I'm not talking about the playoff seeding but rather things start to filter out. Until then nobody really knows just how really good or paper good these teams are. Some I find comical.

Personally I wish there were no polls until week 6.

Too much $$$ in publication and media would be missed.

It keeps getting earlier the poll. I swear they won't be happy until they do a next year poll two days after the bowl games. It is out of control and unfortunately it does impact those playoff people. An undefeated team starting the year off outside the top 25 potentially may not make it in the playoffs and that is WRONG!!

All you can control is your own destiny. Just win, win win and it will sort out.

ND just has to look at the team they're playing next .AP ,coaches' poll doesn't mean a hellava lot this early.

The AP and Coaches polls only come out a week or two before the season start. Also, there playoff committee for didn't seem to have a problem veering away from the polls last year when ND was in the top five of the polls but bare in the top 10 of the committee's ranking.

I believe Stanford is still ahead of Northwestern too. If the polls were just results based, the Wildcats would be ahead of both the Trees and the Trojans. Some voters use results but others use the eyeball test plus history.

This is part of what I find interesting. Voters all seem to have differing criteria. For some, results matter. For some, "forget the results, I know this team is better/worse" is what matters.

The polls really are for fans.

playoffs will include
tOSU or MSU
An SEC representative (commttee will not hold it against the SEC if they beat each other up)
A rep from either PAC10 and/or the Big12 and/or ACC
and ?

The Mildcats would be a 2 touchdown underdog to UOJ even at home. Dont believe the hype.

Being technical...ok. the moment the season ends its wait til next year they have this guy back, seven on defense..blah blah...play six games and talk to me

That's why the committee wait to release their rankings though
But my point is....you can't tell me the committee isn't influenced by the rankings. I know ND was higher in the polls but it still is a baseline and the committee is human. I would like to see the committee do their ranking at week 6, then come the polls.

But then again I wish a 16 team format started this year as well. Ha

Just my opinion, but anyone voting for Auburn to be in the top 25 should immediately lose their voting credentials. Possibly Mizzou as well. I mean how anyone ranks Auburn after being taken to the woodshed by LSU and to the wire by Jacksonville St is mind boggling.

every few years LSU's talent pool comes together for a top o the top team.

Bama will re group (awesome roster) - Ole Miss is for real - UGA and LSU will be in a battle for SEC supremacy.
LSU and UGA do not face each other.
