Really tough question. I honestly believe it could go either way. I think that Adams has more breakaway speed, so he should have more yards purely because he'll break a couple. On the other hand, Folston is going to get a lot of touches on the inside and in tough situations. He's also a very good screen back, so he'll rack up APY's.

Don't forget about Dexter Williams though. He's legitimately the fastest back on the roster and he's in the mix. 4.51 as a sophomore is awesome speed (basically CJ Prosise before track training for the combine). Dex can fly and he catches the ball well too. He'll get some carries this year because it's important ND keeps him engaged and participating. I'd have him returning kicks with Sanders as well.

Agree with the suggestion that Dexter Williams return kicks along side Sanders. All the Spring reports refer to his breaking out one or two long runs a day, coupled with his share of missed pass protection reads. I'll be surprised if Adams doesn't lead all with yards rushed. How about Adams for 1400 and Folston for 1100 and Williams for 400. Obviously expecting a great running attack this year.

I think those projections are a little bit high when you factor in the QB who is a significant contributor to ND's rushing attack as well. I'll say...

Josh Adams: 1050 rushing yards
Tarean Folston: 750 rushing yards, 300 receiving yards
Dexter Williams: 350 rushing yards
Deshone Kizer / Malik Zaire: 500 rushing yards

Well balanced and very productive rushing attack, complimented by a passing attack that will feature a possible 1000 yard receiver in Torii Hunter, a trio of pass catching tight ends and a supporting cast of developing, complimentary receivers.

I expect ND to have a top 20-25 offense this year both in terms of yards and points per game.

Maybe a Bodi moment on my part. Actually think the one that might prove a bit high is Folston, as I think Adams will have a monster year.

Josh Adams 1400 yards rushing 320 yards receiving
T. Folston 820 yards rushing 450 yards receiving
Dexter Williams 750 yards rushing 1350 punt and kickoff return yards

With the amount that Zaire and Kizer also run?... Love the optimism Bodi, but I think it's a little extreme.

Nevada is the only team in a half century I believe to produce 3, 1000 yard rushers in the same year and one of them was Kapernick at quarterback. You have ND's backs averaging out to that same relative production, without even counting the quarterback... I just don't quite see it.

Here is to hoping you're right and I'm wrong though!

I think that having a great Oline (Led by Quenton Nelson and Mike McGlinchey) and a very easy schedule and college teams not playing defense anymore will lead to a Record scoring offense for the Irish this season.
The Irish will average 40 or more points per game this year IMHO.

I think Folston, if completely recovered, ends with more yards.

But ask again once the starting QB spot gets pinned down.

Again, I love the optimism and I hope it comes to fruition!

When you factor in the QB's rushing the ball and the receivers on jet sweeps, etc, etc, you have ND rushing for in the neighbourhood of 3500-3600 yards. That would have placed them 4th or 5th in the nation last year, ahead of teams like Georgia Tech, Oregon, Army, Stanford, and possibly even Baylor...

While it's doable, ND has wayyyy too much talent at receiver to waste and you'll still see the Irish pass the ball vertically much more than the teams I mentioned above.

Gonna be tough. Here is to hoping!
