Petition to Board Administration

Gentlemen,


I have been posting on this board, and its previous incarnations, for the better part of 15 years. I know that you are relatively new here, having taken over the administration of this board at the beginning of the year. You should be aware, however, of a problem which has existed here for several years, and which continues to exist unabated.
This problem is a poster who has gone by many screen names in the past, but who now goes by Epictitus and Dubs Dreader, and perhaps by other names. This poster's sole reason for posting on this board is to besmirch the reputation of the Notre Dame fan base and to sully this board on almost a daily basis.
The poster repeatedly and continuously attacks anything and everything about Florida State University. Virtually daily, he uses this board as a platform to attack FSU, including that school's coaching staff, players, and fans. No matter what a given thread concerns, he hijacks that thread and uses it as a vehicle to castigate FSU.
I am linking a thread which will give you a good idea of how this poster typically posts. His posts in this thread are typical of what he posts here.
The poster's hate and invective have grown beyond tiresome. More than a few posters have ceased posting here because they are tired of having to read his hate for FSU.
Not only does the poster's ongoing campaign of hate detract from the enjoyment of this board, but it also diminishes the reputation of the Notre Dame fan base. When posters from other schools, or potential new members to this board, come here, they must be appalled by the what the poster writes here.
The prior board administrators banned him several times, under different screen names, but he tends to resurface like the proverbial bad penny. I ask that he be banned permanently, and that when he signs on again, he be banned as many times as is necessary until he decides that it is too much of a chore to try to create new screen names under which to post.
I know that this board, along with all of Rivals, recently went to a new board format. I think I am safe in saying that banning this poster for good will be more beneficial to the long term success of this board than any change in format.

I might add that a simple communication with the FSU board administrators will verify this ongoing problem.

Whoever this guy is, he is laughing (probably in a dirty basement) because he is doing what he intended to do and get under everyones skin.

ND78's description, along with the others in this thread, is spot on. I just choose to laugh at the absurdity and lunacy, others get a bit upset. You are absolutely, without a doubt, completely nuts. Or you are one (with countless screen names) pretty clever troll.

But, I support the notion that you should be able to post. When it becomes too much for the other posters, the ignore button works well on this site.

Cannot ban the IP. But can see who posts from it

Which is why I was able to see all the names he has used from 1 IP and ban them. He has 1 name left on Soundoff. And the next time he goes off on FSU there that one will be gone and the post history deleted.

May I suggest any impartial person just look at the likes of those who attack me and they can see who is obsessed and dishonest. I have been a ND fan since before most of you were born and long before the likes of cgvr came here lying about all things Notre Dame and parading himself around like he actually is a Notre Dame fan but attacking Coach Holtz and Coach Kelly at every turn. As long as I can stand on the other side of sick people lie cgvr and a sick person like Mo1d I remain quite content.

I responded to your lies about Holtz and graduation rates under his tenure. Unfortunately, your misinformation/ lies shed Notre Dame in a poor/uneducated light which is your obvious calling.

As for kelly there are very legitimate criticisms of him. He's a polarizing figure along the lines of Billy Martin.. There are plenty of Yankee fans that couldn't stand Martin/Steinbrenner, but loved the Yankees. There are plenty of Alumni/ND fans that feel the same about kelly.

You have to remember Argus brought all the FSU fans here. He took it apond himself to go over to there board and attack them. I think Argus is a FSU fan trying to make all ND fans look bad.

argus has been trolling fsu's and I'm sure other boards picking fights for years. He has been banned on numerous occasions from here and there. He just creates a new handle and continues his obsessive hate filled rants/ attacks. When ignored he creates other handles to converse with himself. It has been out of control for a long time. He knows exactly what he's doing and being the narcissist that he is he'll stop at nothing to draw attention to himself. I do not blame fsu fans one bit for following him here. They're sticking up for their school.

This ND site is like a lightening rod for this behavior. Do folks remember the waves of southern cal folks coming here and dispensing lie after lie in defense of their NCAA violating behavior? It was ridiculous. In the end they were stone cold wrong to a T.

What happens is that argus gets tossed from fsu's site and then continues his banter here. The fact is that argus will take a thread about ND football, interject his lying nonsense about fsu and start the same crap all over again.

Ask argus, epic... why he chooses to do this on ND's site and not somewhere else? He can talk about fsu anywhere. Heck, Stanford's boards are wide open. Why not go there? It's because he hates Notre Dame and wants to ruin the board. It's that simple.

Most of us wish to get rid of one, and only one poster, an individual who has shown for years that he is unable to conform to certain basic levels of decency. The board rules are posted in a sticky thread. The poster at issue violates at least two of those rules on a daily basis. Why have rules if they are meaningless?

Possibly true, but only until posters make similar claims about a different individual. In most communities, there is almost always a least liked member and that individual becomes the next target. Use the ignore button.

Much of this came about because there have been threads started discussing Jameis Winston and Erica Klinsman. Some of us support Erica over the accused rapist from FSU. Epic is one who supports Erica. Just want to make sure any moderator is aware. A simple perusal of the previous posts will demonstrate. So, this hatred of Epic and the attempt to silence him is really just a continuation of the rapist supporters vs those of us on the side of justice.

I support 110% Epic and his right to express his opinions. I have never seen one of his posts denigrate ND or our Lady. He certainly has no love for the criminoles. No crime there.

I seek justice and I hate the fact that this girl has been dragged through the mud because of a bunch of people who only care about winning football games. Once again, I remind all here that there are at least two women acussing Winston, the second specifically speaking out to support the acussations of Ms. Kinsman.

The fact that FSU administrators, coaches and fans care so little about justice they purposely overlooked and manipulated the investigation simply proves my point about FSU and people like Mo1d who have clearly lied about this from the start. It is clear I have never lied and proved my initial point about the pig and FSU!

Frankly, I enjoy the hate they direct at me as it indicates the depth of my success in pointing out the hypocrisy shown so often by so many. I suspect Mo1d may injure himself, but I would only imagine it may stop the pain he inflicts upon himself.
