He’s exactly what the Raiders need…stability, proven record, a winner, a bridge. Expect he’ll have the team playing .500 ball next year, which would be a huge improvement. As a Raider fan, I like this better than hiring a hot OC like Johnson that has never been a HC.

Agree. Carroll and McCarthy highly proven head coaches. Johnson-no. Maybe some day he will be. Each season a “hot” coordinator becomes available. Some work out and many do not. The Bears have a history of late choosing the wrong one.

He interviewed with the Bears so he at least put his name out there for the job. I think the Bears made the right decision in taking Johnson, but Carroll would have been far better than McCarthy who also interviewed.

Pete Carroll, IMO, is a top 5 NFL Head Coach. Tom Brady got it right.

That said, he does need a QB. Badly.
