Based on NCAAs findings and forfeiture of wins and his belief it starts and stops at Kelly's doorstep.
Interesting analysis.

if this involvd someone associated with the athletes in a functional role, how can Kelly bow this off as outside the program and a student on student incident? And what the hell is a student on student incident when a scholarship football player is involved? Isn't the staff clsely monitoring these guys, even micro managing there academic efforts ?
You can't foresee the future. You can only judge what you see up to that point.Kelly from the very beginning talked about RKGs, So first make sure the kids recruited , beside deing good athletes are good intelligent students of good character. If they do not have those qualities , they simply are not RKG's.

Well stated! Just listen to the huddlePerse you said 4 years of abysmal recruiting? How so? I dont see our recruiting as the problem, nor the actual players. Rather the coaching. Fundamentals, discipline, attention to detail ie (film study) execution and technique. All hallmarks of solid coaching to championship caliber. ND exhibits few if any of these traits with Kelly.
I dont know what a head coach at ND goes through on a day to day that makes it so much more challenging than at other schools. What i do know is that they all basically agree they were'nt ready! If OSU and Michigan can go out and hit home run hires. I find no reason whatsoever we cant find a capable coach. Hell Tressel, Miles have championship rings to there credit, and are just waiting to see who wants there services. Much better options than 2010. If we get the right guy? The players will not be a liability!
Very well stated, though I'm not as sure about getting rid of Jack.Notre Dame should part ways with Kelly , Swarbrick and anyone else they want. Clean house and put out a statement.
"Notre Dame stands for a commitment to excellence in all matters on and off the field , in and out of the classroom. Over the past several years things have happened contrary to that commitment. As of now, we at Notre Dame will recommit our institution to strive for excellence in all we do athletically and academically. We will not settle for, nor except less from all who are involved in university matters. Beginning today we will find a coach and athletic director who have integrity and a common goal of striving for excellence while maintaining that integrity personally and professionally. We will recruit student athletes who understand that they will be challenged academically. There will be no excuse for failure. If that means missing out on some elite athletes, so be it. We believe we can still compete for championships and maintain academic excellence. It takes a special player to play at the University of Our Lady. We at Notre Dame do things one way, that's the right away. So even though the university is going through a trying time, we will rise above all negativity and become better and stronger than ever. "
If I'm in charge that's what I would say on Tuesday after Kelly and Swarbrick are launched on Monday.
Why in the world would anyone listen to let alone quote this bigoted idioc dirt bag?Based on NCAAs findings and forfeiture of wins and his belief it starts and stops at Kelly's doorstep.

I think Kelly should go for a number of reasons, though I don't particularly blame him entirely for the academic thing. I suppose the buck stops with him, but I'm not sure how a coaching staff can possibly monitor this type of activity.
I totally agree! On matters of SEC he's an "expert" but he doesn't know much outside this realm.Finebum is the mouthpiece of the SEC and Alabama. His opinion isn't worth a plug nickle around here.

being a football coach is like surrogate parent, and parenting is a 24/7/365/forever thing!
4 yrs ain't that long and usually 80% of the kids are gonna be lil or no problem. Just identify the other 20% and stay on them!
Bullshit. He's the football coach, not a parent, and he can't and won't know everything a kid is doing. As, BTW, is the case with parenting.DIP

there is a third option for BK to riding or dying next year....he can be somewhere else.Happy Thanksgiving All.
Entertain this idea (defense):
- Nearly all freshman defensive backfield (will be more experienced next year)
- Players playing out of position (Tranquil, Tillery (DT vs DE))
- Morgan should've been playing more last year
- 3 years of learning a s**t defensive scheme
While I'm providing excuses there is blame to be put on the coaches. Namely BK needs to check his ego and re-evaluate his offensive approach. This "we are a shotgun offense and deal with it" is not going to cut it. If DeShone doesn't fumble the damn snap last week they beat VT. How many times have they failed in a short yardage situation because they are lined up 5 yards behind the los? Last year when they scored the TD against Stanford did you think DK was gonig to PA bootleg? I didn't and neither did Stanford as you're more unpredictable under center. BK needs to ride or die with Mike Sanford next year. As one of the worst politicians of recent says "What's the worse that can happen?"
