OT Tom Petty dead at 66

Just saw him at Arroy Seco in June. did a 2 hour show and looked/performed unbelievably. Man I'm really sad.

I was there too -- he was a star that night. So many great songs.

Reeling from Vegas. A tragic day in our country. Prayers go out to the families.

On most any other day this would be a big story, but instead it just compound's the sadness I'm already feeling from Vegas

Thanks for the Memories

RIP
One of my favorites. One of the few I had never saw live ,regrets. Seemed like a good person never heard anything negative about him.

Saw him in April... Absolutely killed it, just hit after hit after hit. Hard to say thanks for creating a soundtrack for my college years even though everyone was too young to have seen him live when he was originally touring.

Watched his live concert from Gatorville on AXSTV. They performed outstanding versions of songs from The Yardbirds, the original original Fleetwood Mac, and Traveling Wilburys. He and his mates made it look easy.

The passing of Tom Petty is really a big deal. His influence can't be debated and he and his band were a perpetual hit machine. I was trying to think of a comparison from days gone by. The best I can come up with is Buddy Holly. Both highly influential. Both hit makers. Both successful with their band and as solo artist. Though Buddy died way too early, Tom Petty still had a lot left in the fuel tank.
