If anybody truly cares, ESPN will be replacing Tessitore and McFarland in the Monday Night Football booth. I find Tessitore to be a strange case. I actually liked him doing college football, but could not stand him on Monday Night Football. His over-the-top enthusiasm just seemed to fit college football but seemed forced and out of place doing NFL games.
But again, I don't really give a rat's ass who is doing Monday Night Football. It simply is not the "must watch" event it was 50 years ago. For those of us who were around for Frank Gifford (who replaced Keith Jackson after the first year), Dandy Don Meredith and Howard Cosell, we all remember what a big deal Monday Night Football was back then.
Now it is just another of the plethora of NFL football games seen each week. I would argue that the NBC Sunday Night Football game as surpassed it in the mind of most NFL fans.
