Any NBA guys in here? I don't know how you can defend Westbrick getting the MVP over Harden after that game. Westbrook disrespects the game by not playing d and camping for easy boards. I hope the voters recognize this. Any LeBron should win every year people? I see it but I'm not there. Also, do you think it's a lock Golden State & Cleveland in the Finals? Looks like it.

Not a fan of Westbrook, but I do admire his athleticism and effort. Thought the Oscar Robertson's record of averaging a double triple would never be broken, and really dislike that someone who plays the game like Westbrook was the one to do it. His excessive turnovers and reckless play and so much one on one basketball is not the game I love. Hope Harden wins the MVP but hard to believe Westbrook's record setting season will be denied.

I respected Westbrook until I found out something I would go as far to say as sickening about him. He was DEAD last in contested field goals. That means he is letting his man shoot so he can crash boards. Also his bigs let him get the boards of free throws and uncontested rebounds. It's blatant disrespect. Harden has proven to make others better similar to Bron this year. But at the end of the day a triple double is a triple double lol

In one sentence you say Harden should get the MVP over Westbrook..... and go on to say because Westbrook doesn't play and D...... HAVE YOU SEEN Harden play defense? I watched a video of him and his 'worst' defensive moments and it made me scratch my head. Westbrook is a one man wrecking ball...... he is playing on a team full of bums and is literally carrying them as far as he can. Remember he averaged a triple double.......... there is no argument who the Most Valuable Player is. It is Westbrook.

Westbrook put up the gaudy numbers and Harden is an amazing player, great season (agree that neither play D) - actually Kwami would get my vote as the best two-way player in the league night in and night out. Take him away from the Spurs and they would struggle to be a play-off team this year (the same could be said about OKC and Westbrook).

It's not about one game. It's about the 82 regular season games. My vote goes to Westbrook. He had a phenomenal season on team with very little talent.

Golden State can be crowned the champs right now. No one will come close to knocking them off. The east is so weak but so is Cleveland's defense.

OKC's trash roster is what forces Russ to do virtually everything.

Say the following slowly and really comprehend it......

"Westbrook AVERAGED a triple-double this season."

There's a reason why only one other person in NBA history has accomplished this feat.

Love him or hate him, Westbrook should get the MVP this year.

Amen. nemeth#5 is watching. The Rockets jack 40 3-pointers every night and have a gallery of talented shooters to help Harden. If you take Russ off of OKC they might win 10 games.

This guy is on top of it....

On no I know Harden isn't all that on defense. But his mans shooting percentage is shockingly low. Only two players in the entire NBA contested less 3's than Westbrook this year, and they are both centers. That is not playing defense on purpose so you can pad your stats is my point

I'm having a hard enough time dealing with some of the undeserved inductees into the Rock and Roll HOF let alone NBA MVP winners. No one ever asks me my opinion and that is starting to tick me off.

That is an incredible feat. I am surprised there is even competition against him in the balloting.

Ah -- the NBA quit existing as "basketball" when the likes of Bird, Magic, Kareem, Jordan, Dr J, the Bad Boys all retired --

Only 12 players in the entire NBA averaged over 10 rebounds per game! Now I am no basketball guru, but doesn't every team (32) have one big guy who should get all the rebounds? Yet somehow Westbrook is 10th on the list of rebounds per game. Their (Thunder) Center, Steve Adams, is still ranked around 30th with 7.7/game.

You can say his teammates let him average 10 +rebounds/game...... but I don't buy it. If you have ever watched Westbrook play he is a killer.... he goes 100%. Maybe he isn't the best defender, but it is the NBA, the game is designed for offense. Oh, he was also ranked 12th in steals?

If you ever watch Westbrook play you'd realize his teammates gift him boards. He's the NBA leader in uncontested rebounds at 8.5. What kind of "killer" on the court lets his man shoot just so he can pad his stats?

You make it sound like you think it is conspiracy by his teammates to pad his rebound stats over 82 games! You aren't being serious are you? Do you think they did that with his points and assists as well?

That was actually mentioned on the NBA network. They especially pointed out the strategy to get Westbrook rebounds on missed free throws.

It is... watch the video. OKC tried to make sure he secured a triple double. One free throws the bigs don't even go for the board they box and and WATCH Russ jump in and get the easiest of boards

You can't have 5 opponents on the court and think you can pad the stats of one player by blocking out or having Westbrook let his guy shoot to be free for the rebound unless Westbrook is just that good. His 30 pts a game and 10 assists reinforces the fact that he is just that good. Good enough that you want the ball in his hands immediately to push it up the court to create points.

Yes I never said he wasn't elite or probably the best and most explosive athlete in the league. But it is a FACT that he chooses to not play d just to pad his boards. The season Wilt scored 100 and averaged 50 ppg the player who made everyone better on the court and played unselfish won the MVP, Bill Russell. Denying Westbrick is a stat padder is like denying the sky is blue. But I never said he isn't great

Westbrook statistically has had one of the greatest seasons in history. I think he clearly has been the best player this year. Do the numbers make him the most "valuable "? That I m not so sure of.

LeBron James is the best player in the NBA, just like Michael Jordan was during his playing time. Westbrook is the MVP.
