Yea and the Biden’s do business with Russia, PGA with China. The US has way more blood on its hands than the Saudi’s over the past 75 years. The PGA crutch of blood money early on was always a joke.
That being said, PGA had the leverage and upper hand if they held their ground. No chance LIV survives another 3-5 years if they stayed the course. Jay needs to go. Ole Jimmy Dunne an ND man responsible for the deal, wild times.
Well unfortunately it was an ND guy who was instrumental in making it happen, Dunne. He’s getting eviscerated for being a massive hypocrite— has been very critical of LIV tour and Saudis and lost 60 plus employees/ friends in 9-11 attack. Not to mention the crown prince sanctioning the execution of a journalist. Sadly Quinn is bed with this cretin on his NIL collective. Bad bad look
Ehh, most circles I run in and follow are giving Dunne a lot of credit. If he can pull off the unthinkable of uniting LIV and PGA, we’ll hell, a ND NIL collective should happen over a cup of coffee.
Not quite sure I'm understanding your first paragraph. I stated facts, and you've listed talking points. That aside, the point I was making is; it's fairly petty for anyone to lay blame on a golfer when it is fact that American corporations do business with SA; Trump, a former President, does in fact host several of the LIV events, for a shit ton of money; and the US Government does in fact have business agreements with SA, hell Lindsey Graham just met with MBS. Those points were not intended as political statements; just facts
Dunne isn't being "eviscerated" at all. And Jimmy Dunne is one of the most genuine, authentic guys you will ever meet. There isn't a hypocritical bone in his body. The world needs more Jimmy Dunnes. If you watched the interview he gave on the Golf Channel a couple of days ago, he explains how this all came about and why he believes the deal is in the best interests of the PGA Tour. Try listening to what he said before you jump to false assumptions and conclusions. While you may not agree with him, at least you will understand where he was coming from.

There are a lot of people who think Dunne acted hypocritically in making the deal happen, given what happened to his investment banking firm on 9-11, but I think it is way more nuanced than those critics will ever understand. I have briefly met Dunne, but do not know him personally; however, I know a couple of ND grads who do, and they say he is a stand up guy. There was an interesting quote in the article from Tom Brady describing Dunne:
"When you've been around people a long time, you see the 360," Brady told Sports Illustrated in 2021. "Jimmy is an amazing leader, a great dad, a great husband ... honest as the day is long. You don't do amazing things by taking three knees and punting, hoping someone else makes a decision for you."
It will be interesting to me to see whether the proposed deal passes muster with the DOJ antitrust lawyers. I don't think that is a given.

Hopefully Terry Strada & the rest of the 9/11 community prevail in their Jasta lawsuit. No doubt SA played a major role in bankrolling the hijackers.
Facts stated as well. Not sure who was blaming the golfers? My point was, the PGAs main selling point to its players to not join LIV was on the basis that SA is a corrupt, murderous, evil country which is completely hypocritical given their past events in SA and business dealings with China. I guess not sure why Trump and Americas dealings with SA were brought up when the PGA tour itself did business there.
