After watching Life is Good just demolish Knick's Go in the Pegasus it got me thinking of what could have been. We really missed out on what should have been one of the greatest Triple Crown rivalries of all time had both horses not been injured.
As 4 year olds they are the 2 standouts with no peers. Just 2 monsters that make good horses look like claimers.
I hope the connections realize horse racing needs this Rivalry.
I would love for them to match up 3 times this year.
1st Match up in May on Derby Day at Churchill in the Churchill Stakes or at Belmont in the Met Mile.
2nd match up at Saratoga in August at the Whitney Stakes
3rd Match up Breeder Cup in Nov at Keenland in the Classic.

Flightline will be managed very carefully and I doubt he will try anything beyond a mile. he might not leave Cali and I'm guessing they'd prefer he avoid LIG.

Met Mile would be the most likely meeting and I agree a hell of a race

Sadler said the goal is to race him in the Breeder's Cup Classic in Nov so hopefully Met Mile, The Whitney, then the Classic.
I agree Sadler & the connections have been way too cautious with him. I get that the Stud fees could be absolutely unreal but Horse Racing needs this rivalry in the worse way after the sh!tshow the last 3 years have been. It would be criminal not to see these horses meet up. They both have huge followings on Social Media & the build up would draw a lot of non horse racing fans to watch that race.

The Goat race in tennis is much more interesting
Haha, these horses havent reached the Secretariat level yet. I think Flightline has the most potential of the two. He has been absolutely dominant. Won his 1st 3 races by almost 40 lengths & hasnt even been asked to run yet.
Life is Good showed Saturday that he still has room to improve. He still looked a little Green on the back stretch & coming home. Irad Ortiz Jr who's been a top jock for 5 years said Life is Good is the best horse he's ever ridden.

I think Nadal took over the Goat race in tennis. It's going to be a Nadal v Djokovic battle for the next 2 to 3 years to see who ends up being the Goat.

And they'll have that title for a long long time

If Life is Good goes to Dubai, the two probably won't face each other till either The Whitney or the BC Classic. Flightline's tenative 2022 race schedule reminds me a little of what Frankel did with Ghostzapper in 2004, although Ghostzapper had two 1-1/8M races prior to the Classic where Flightline may have only one unless the plan is to run him in the Pacific Classic at 1-1/4M. I just hope both stay healthy. Also we don't know how some of the other 4 year olds will develop during the year (Mandaloun, Hot Rod Charlie). Right now LIG and Flightline tower over the field.

Yeah Sadler has Flightline racing in the San Carlos in March so very little chance he will have him go to Churchill in May. I imagine Met Mile then Pacific Classic then hopefully BC Classic.
On a side note I would have never imagined Into Mischief would be the sire he has become. I know he was alittle injury plagued but a horse that only raced 6 times & only went a mile 1/16 once has produced star after star.

Into Mischief's stud fee for 2022 is $250,000. I know he passed Tapit as having the highest fee in the last year or two. The way the Gun Runner's are running, his fee jumped from $50,000 to $125,000 in 2022.

Yeah Gun Runner killing it. The best bang for your buck is probably Violence think his stud fee is at 25k.

As sick as I am of Runhappy he's standing for only 12.5. Gun Runner's firsters are around 30%

Gun Runner Colt Early Voting looked good today.
