Jackson, I'm with you. I have no problem questioning a coaches decisions, thats part of being a fan. To you suggestion, I to would love to see ZA and BC on the floor together more often. I think ZA plays soft, but the combination of the 2 would help our interior play. That said, I generally differ to the coach and assume he knows his players better than we do. But would still love to see it.

Conversation about ideas and basketball is what this board should be about, and not the cry baby, wanna be, know it all crap from Bug and a few others. They never have suggestions to help. Any asshole can say fire the coach. I did laugh though, that he never answered with an idea of how it's the coaches fault that we shot 3 - 22 from 3, and what he would have done differently. The guy never played or coached a day in his life. Would rather bitch about others, but offer nothing constructive.

Do I agree with everything Brey does...heck no...but just because I disagree with some of the stuff he runs doesn't make him a bad coach. Perfect example was last game...I wondered why DJ wasn't on the floor at the end of the game. Brey went with Vasturia. His thought process was probably that he could get by with Grant at point ans Vasturi is a better 3 pt shooter. His choice. Do I agree with it, no, but it doesn't make him a bad coach because another coach disagrees with something. I also hate Brey's delay stuff. Too much standing around for me, I would like to see more cutting when they go into their "burn" offense. Brey does it differently...and has gotten mileage out of it. So we disagree. I also would never, ever bury a guy unless I was at practices, team meetings, behind the bench etc...Coaches who are worth their salt don't do things like that...I also refuse to give any quarter to anyone who bad mouths a coach when things don't go right, but refuse to give him credit when things go well. I have only bad mouthed one coach in my life and that is because I know he is dirty...I saw him do it. You wanna piss on Brey's tournament record...go ahead..it's the nature of the beast and I would bet a cold one Brey would be man enough to own up to his team's failures at tourney time. But to not give him credit for going from under .500 to having 25 wins is just plain awful...and that is what that moron is..he's a disgrace to the coaching profession. Not one person on these threads is saying Brey is the best coach in America, but to not man up and give credit where credit is do, well, that person is just a despicable human being...

Do yourself a favor...listen to Bob Knight, Jay Bilas, Bob Cremins, Seth Greenberg, Dan Bonner, Dan Dakich, Jay Williams, Dickie V and I am sure I missed some others....All of them have raved about the coaching jon he has done with this team. And all of them and way more correct about Brey than that ignorant moron. You think Brey is doing a great job, fine, you stick solid with your beliefs.

Earth to Diehard ..... the coach doesn't make any decisions ..... except for who goes on and off the floor ..... and that is very few for a guy who says "Using your bench is overrated" .... I think there may be a learning disability here

DieHard...I see the coward never answered your question, and he won't so don't hold your breath. Had the game taped from the other nite, couldn't watch it closely when it was live. I am taking back some things I said earlier. ND missed a ton of open shots....Syracuse's defense wasn't that great after I watched it closely a second time. ND just did not shoot well, and DJ, in my opinion, had at least 4 possessions where I thought he should have punctured the zone off the bounce and could have freed up shooters. Why he didn't, who knows. I bet after he watches the tape and sees a zone defense again he won't make the same mistake. But ND had shots, good ones, they didn't go down. Bottom line is its the coaches job to put players in the right offense to succeed. It's the players job to make the right offense work. When you shoot 3-22 at this level, and you rely on that shot to be successful, you will lose. It was not the offense, if it was they would not have had so many open looks. If you shoot 3-22 at this level you will lose. Wisconsin plays Maryland, shoots shitty from beyond the arc...loses by 10. If Duke, who lives by the 3, shoots 3-22, they will lose. Many times its not more complicated than that. JMO...hope it helped.

^agreed. I didn't think the defense was that stout. ND had a ton of open looks, just didn't knock'em down. If they shoot even slightly better, they win. You beat the zone by ball movement and knocking down perimeter shots, that opens the floor on the inside. The flip side, you shoot that horrifically, you lose. Pretty simple really. That's not on the coach, that's on the players.

I'm with you on seeing Bonzie and Zach on the floor together, I'd love to see it. That probably takes minutes from Vasturia, but I'm OK with that. It may even help Steve, to me he may be tiring, because I don't think he is playing that well. Less minutes may help.

What I would do would to fix this goes wayyy deeper than one game .... like asking players to play D or sit down .... attack the paint and not live or die on the 3-point line ..... use my bench to keep fresh legs on the floor ..... try and get something out of D JAX (he is being wasted and potentially flat out ruined out there)
Then after that we could talk x's and o's .... but you don't get this much ..... and it's not even close .... this is Bball 101 and you are asking to take a master's course
