Last weekend, Notre Dame hosted Moorpark (Calif.) High offensive lineman Jonah Monheim for an official visit. I learned about it on Saturday.
The Irish started working on him about three weeks ago and worked on him up to the final minute, but he decided to stick with his USC pledge.
Notre Dame sorted through a ton of OL prospects from across the country, and Monheim was one of a couple of guys that they thought was a can't miss prospect. (The other signed elsewhere today too).
The Irish offered him a scholarship back in April but ended up deciding against taking an interior guy at that point. but they loved Monheim's new senior film so much and wanted him bad. The staff really felt that he took a big jump from 2018 to 2019.
USC has announced Monheim's signing so this one is over.
