OL was the MVP against USC

The ND run game has been amazing this year averaging over 6 yards a carry for second best in the country. ND has had 5 straight games with over 200 yards rushing.

The OL owed USC today. I think the group is underrated by this board. Plenty of talent on the OL and they have been improving throughout the season.
We have 3 really good backs that make a lot of people miss and break a lot of tackles. Love, Leonard and Price are a problem for any team

They have improved but they still need to improve in pass pro

Those 3 are great runners but I haven’t seen the OL get pushed around in a long time and concede negative run plays. In pass pro, they allow a sack around 4% of the time which is good for #32 in the country. They are much better than most other OLs. Hence, being nominated for the Joe Moore award.

Totally, the OL would appear to have been as good as ever. Not missing a beat. Maybe the first few weeks, maybe they sucked against NIU, I don't know. But clearly the offense and the run game has steadily become a machine over the back half of the season. Maybe Denbrock needed to really mesh with them and it took a few games, because our offense is productive as hell. And MF apparently prioritizes the run, and he's gotta feel pretty validated as a young coach trying to implement his own philosophy. I think our offense has been a triumph this season.

Because Riley avoids so many sacks with his legs and Denbrock changed the offense to quick passes. They don't ask them to hold their blocks too long.

Yes, Denbrock has changed the offense to play to the strengths of our personnel but the opposition knows ND is run heavy and quick passes too. And the OL has continued to outperform.

Amen, the broadcast did a great job of showing the lanes the OLine was paving. Golson on his knees could have broke a few 30 yarders.

Who is coming back next year? Who will start considering how well the line has performed with current starters? Might be just as controversial as QB.

Everyone [except Tosh Baker]could come back next year. Not sure 2 of them will. As Jagusah and Craig will be back.
