Ive heatd this before from other players from other prograns. Do you guys think that sentiment is common in CFB?

Yeah, posting this on another thread was not enough. It needs to have a thread all of its own. Another asinine post by a premier dick.

Again just showing how dumb he really is. The context of what Jones said doesn't matter I guess or the fact that the full sentence was "I feel sorry for Notre Dame... Nah I am just Playing" as he laughed in response to a question about BK's remarks regarding QB situations.

I feel sorry for Hoosier Storm, since he has to live in his mother's basement and can't do any better on $7.50 an hour.

I have a friend/coworker that is 45 that still lives at home and he uses two child support payments with everybody at work as his excuse for not having his own place

has anyone seen or heard the actual comment to:
verify the OP's assertion?
and if true, to ascertain exactly what Jones was alluding to?

my best guess if it was said, was that he is referring to the academic burden on the players; this is the message that has been the theme of the negative recruiting employed by rival coaches this recruiting session. I expect that the Kelly statement re academics has been repeated countless times to recruits, as if it validates the negative recruiting tactic.

Pers, I believe that is exactly to what he is referring. And, that's what other coaches tell the recruits.

That's why some simply don't wish to attend ND. They see themselves as NFL material and nothing more. Those are the same that are financially ruined at 28-29 years old when they're done with football.

It's a 40-year decision, fellas.

Cogent analysis perse.

That is not what he was referring to. As I stated in the previous post.

BK says he would prefer ND's QB situation to Ohio St.'s
Rinaldi w/ESPN is interviewing Jones references BK's quote and ask Jones about the quote referencing the cliche if you have two starting qb's you don't have one.
Jones said he felt sorry for ND and then immediately laughed and said he was playing and talked about Ohio St's QB situation.

tOSU, now there are 2 QB's
And MZ-BW are unproven but the gap is not as wide as was once thought.

The edge to tOSU based upon actual accomplishment at this time.

Kelly, unprompted, took an unfortunate/misguided shot at osu. The op will not be able to source "other players" or "other programs" because he is making nonsense up to flame as usual. It's a shame Golson is gone.....

"At the quarterback position, maybe other than Ohio State, I would take our two quarterbacks,” Kelly said. “And I would take our two over Ohio State’s. In terms of depth, I don’t know if anybody has a better situation than we do in terms of the two quarterbacks we have.”

"I feel sorry for Notre Dame,” Jones replied before quickly laughing it off and saying he was joking." (Advantage Jones)

"The fact that Kelly pumped up his own players publicly isn’t a surprise as coaches all across the country do it on an almost daily basis, especially in the spring. The fact that Kelly, unsolicited, brought up OSU and claimed he’d take his guys overUrban Meyer‘s, though, is head-scratching and chuckle-inducing to say the least."

It was kind of a chuckle. For Kelly to compare any aspect of his program to Urban Meyer's is pretty funny.

Notre Same could have had Urban if they knew how to close the deal and make a big time hire.

Wrong again, idiot. Maybe you could have gone to a better school than Big Ten academic cellar-dweller Indiana if you weren't so profoundly stupid.

Fact is Urban Meyer is 10x the coach Kelly is. When you have an Asst.Coach like UM, you don't let him wander away. Reminds me of the Giants letting Lombardi and Landry go their own way.

Yeah, when Bowling Green wanted our receivers coach we should have known what would happen, and paid him $1,000,000 to stay. Man, you say some really inane things.
Really don't understand your argument. Are you saying that it was the right thing to let UM move to another university or the Giants were right for letting Landry or Lombardi leav? .An NFL team or College University should be able to identify rising stars. So it is inane to pay UM to stay at ND when Bob Davie was the Head Coach? You sure you want to continue with this debate? If I see no reply I will understand.

My goodness, you are dense. Another dope to be added to the ignore list.

Obviously, he should have been the head coach. Or has his performance dissuaded you from the conclusion. I am dense? You people are idiots!!! As an AD, you need to identify talent. What happened when UM left? How did her perform? How many Championships has he won? We traded Bob Davie for UM....I can't belive you are arguing with me about this? So to break it down, you believe that ND made the right choice in keeping Bob Davie and letting UM walk? And if understand your argument, it was because UM was only a receiver coach? So...how has history reaffirmed your conclusion? For God sake, we hired a high school football coach. Why is it so out of the ordinsry to hire a WR coach? At the nend of the day, ND made the wrong decion...period and any fool who would argue that is likewise a fool.

Every great coach in college or the NFL was an assistant somewhere at sometime, most of them at multiple places. So all those schools or teams should have known what was going to happen to those coaches and should have not let them leave? Does that sound even remotely realistic to you?

You make valid point, but it was not like we had Ara as coach. We had Bob Davie. It is the responsibility of the administration to evaluate and understand who is a rising star. ND did not do this. However, I see many posting that Sanford is a rising star. Why? Is it easier to evaluate an outsider than someone who is in the program?

Look McFly jump in your DeLorean and go let everyone know what UM would be as a head coach 15-20 years down the road but there is no guarantee that we was ready to make that jump to HC at a prime spot in D1 football in the mid 90's.

You're not getting that conclusion from my post. There is a difference in media coverage now so more people recognize or are aware of him but that doesn't affect whether or not UM was a rising star. Even if Sanford is a rising star I don't see him as the next HC.

So the solution is to use hindsight to argue ND letting UM go is the reason we are here? No proof UM stays at ND and doesn't just use ND to get to Ohio St.
